Perhaps I can give some helpful tips. And sorry if the post is too long.

You got the right idea attacking his miners. What you need to understand is that while garrisoning miners keeps them safe, they are not working while they are in the castle.

It is a good thing if you attack and they garrison, however you cannot really hurt their economy just because you forced them to garrison one time. So you have to attack repeatedly and force your opponent to garrison multiple times.

For attacking easily, you should be near your opponent's second gold row. That way you can get into his base faster, you can attack any miners that are working in the second row of gold and you can see into his base.

I suggest getting archers, they are very good for killing the miners and they can shoot any walls being built.

Also, while you are denying him his second gold row, you can make lots of miners that are in the first and second row of gold back in your base, so you have a better economy than him for sure.

Also, here's some additional info for archers: It takes 5 arrows to kill an un-upgraded miner (a miner who doesn't have the miner hustle upgrade).

So if you have 3 archers, all you have to do is target a miner, fire 2 volleys and kill him. If you are able to get 5 archers quickly you may be able to get in and fire only 1 volley to kill a miner.

And keep in mind, while these tips will help against spearton massers, they can still help you when you are a higher rank and you are trying to put pressure on your opponent by attacking. So try to remember these tips.
