Every year, SP has a forum-wide awards thread that includes like 2-3 entries from this section. Well, that's just bullshit. First off, that contest is being run by people who don't really know the WL, set in a section where the WL refuses to tread, and the categories are too few. The WL has grown alot more since previous years and I think it'd be awesome if this section got its own Awards and Noms, run by people who really know the place.

For now, let us suggest potential award categories before nominating and agree on some ground rules. I suggest that we go with weighted scoring (giving pts to votals instead of straight polling) since we are fewer in number. We also get the opportunity to write blurbs about our votes if necessary. It'll be a celebration of this section's past and present contributions.

Stipulations:
- Contest Scope extends to anything created not just in 2015, but for the first month of 2016 (until the official start of the contest) as well as the bottom half of 2014 (July to December).
- There will be 2 main categories of Awards: wRHG and non-WRHG (or OLit as it were).
- If a category has less than 3 nominations, it will be disbanded.
- There will be special provisions for certain entries that aren't necessarily in the OLit section. Such as...RPs. I say we suggest awards for those things too.
- When considering entries, Unfinished Works are allowed.

And here are my suggested Award Categories:

Non-wRHG
- Best Poem
- One Hit Wonder (best work from someone with 3 or less entries)
- Best Friday Funk Category
- Best Short Story
- Best Saga (stories with more than 1 chapter)

wRHG
- Best Battle
- Funniest Battle
- Best Demo
- Best Newcomer Character
- Best CnC or CnC-er

Other
- Best RP Character
- Best RP Event

You may ask, why are the RPs considered in this contest? Well, who else participates in these RPs but the lurking writers too? Most of them anyway. Plus, in comparison to everything else on this site, RP-ing is pretty close to what the OLit does anyway.


Award titles are not set in stone, feel free to suggest. Ideally, we could have 6-8 per Non-wRHG and wRHG category.

Also would like to ask if you guys want awards that are Negatively aimed. I'm talking about categories like "Worst Character". I'll allow those things but only if the goal is to assert positive reinforcement on whoever "wins" those awards. Basically, if someone wins worst character, his prize is to be improved by the community.


Feel free to advice which categories also wouldn't make sense and should be removed.

I feel like if were talking about best RP and its near the end of 2014, we need to put Fraysa in the nominations. It was a very captivating RP that had a great story/ending
