Question's aimed at the guys of this forum, in case you didn't know.

A long time ago when the first Power Rangers came out, the toyline was pretty balanced and equal among the cast. You could buy the Pink Ranger's Bike and accessories just as much as every other Ranger. But as time went on, only the 3 guys and sometimes just the Red one just started getting the most swag. Well the answer's obvious, as time went on companies just assumed that the show was targeting just boys and only boys like playing with toys while girls play with dollies.

But are they right?

If the most recent Power Ranger had Pink with just as much accessories and cool stuff as the Big 3, and you were a fan of the show and you saw that in the store in broad daylight, would you just buy it? Why or why not?

And don't say because PR is retarded. Use any other example in place. Except anime, we all know you love your waifus. Also except ponies, because bronies are overrated.

And yes I know the yellow ranger is a girl too, but sometimes he's a guy and at times even the number 2.

I'm sorry, but power ranger toys scare me almost as much as the idea of being forced to watch the show with the youngsters. I have very bad memories of that show. No, just... no.

(Seriously though, I think a pink power ranger is fine... at least in my perspective. I dono what children think these days but having something for both genders doesn't seem to do anything harmful to anyone. Still don't want anything to do with Power Rangers though. So no... I would not buy it in a million years... ok maybe 2,000, but that's as low as I go.)

(Edit: Even if I was a fan I still wouldn't because I would go blue every day all day.)

(Edit: Buying female action figures seems weird to me. In fact... action figures are weird to me. I can't find entertainment in them like others do racking up thousands on their display case. So no.)

Eh... I don't know.
There's almost always a red guy, blue guy, yellow guy/girl, usually a black/secret ranger that appears every once in a while, while all the other rangers only appear every once in a while. So I don't think they're as important.

Well.... the whole design of the power rangers seems trite to me, even when I watched a series and I liked it, I never really liked their design. As far as pink garments on an action figure go, I don't really have a problem. Only if there is a nice design though. I especially like lavender as a colour. But in the end, even when I watched the show I didn't like the outfits and I wouldn't buy the action figures. Sooo no.

When I was a kid I fucking loved power rangers and I had a whole collection of those Megazord toys:

Those things were the shit. Too bad I sold them when I was younger.

Eh. I probably wouldn't buy it simply because I didn't like PR all that much.

I never watched Power Rangers too much as a kid, but I did like two series in particular. Those being the one with the jungle creatures and other with dinosaurs. (Dinosaurs were the thing when I was a kid...)

But in those series there was only ever a trio of rangers, usually Red, Blue and Yellow. Along with a super cool secret ranger with an awesome mech. I did have some PR toys as a kid, but I can't honestly say I'd want the pink PR...

Alright alright EVERYONE is missing the point of this thread.

It doesn't have to be POWER RANGERS. I mentioned this. My point is, if an obviously female character of a show you like has just as much accessories as the guys, would you openly admit to buy it knowing that you love it and the show.

Doesn't anyone ever read anymore? They see the title and then ohshit tldr OP.

Oh... Sorry about that, I guess I went illiterate for a second.
When it comes to a series, most of the time I like the female characters, unless they're stupid damsels in distress all the time. Pink Ranger isn't like that, most of the time, she doesn't just hold her own, but she actually helps!

Same with some other female characters, I like those characters.
But if it were the same case and I saw the action figure, I still wouldn't buy it... :/

To be fair, you only say they have to use another franchise if they have reasoning such as "Power Rangers is retarded," then continue to speak on Power Rangers, going on about the Yellow Ranger occasionally being a guy. So if there's any confusion, it's on you for that. For that same reasoning, it's never actually stated in the OP that it's female characters exclusively. If that's the real point, then it kinda means that only males can answer, as it's stereotypical for females to buy female characters. So if you really want to get what I assume is your point across, wouldn't it be better to ask if people would buy a character figure or accessories for somebody of the opposing gender from some franchise they like? Just my two cents.

To answer, though, I don't really buy toys, period. So I suppose no is the short of it.

Well, this is past tense, since I USED to buy toys, but have since stopped (video games, IRL cars and car accessories, food, and bills have taken up most of my money....oh, and tech stuff. ESP tech stuff).

I would say that I might buy it. Like, I'll talk about Legos, since that was my thing.

I always played with the female characters. In my reasoning, it just made sense. After all, every action movie my dad watched had a girl in it. I always played them as (pardon my French) seriously badass, (I loved using the princess Leia char from my star wars sets for example).

In video games, if I liked the equipment of a female character, I played her.

Now, that aside, I don't think I would have walked into a store and bought a female character on its own. In a set, sure, but not on its own. Why? Some deep part of the man in me always has objected to things like that...I mean, i'll birdwatch and garden and cook, but buying a female character all on its own is just....idk, but no.

Kinda. I'm voting no, because I presume you mean buying it on its own, not in a set.

Missed the line after this one.

That's pretty sweet. :D

Unfortunately, I don't go shopping for action figures in general. Maybe when I was a kid. 'Course my parents wouldn't have bought a girl character for me lol.
