You say that as if you're under the impression that SW3 and SE:L will gain profit. Practically nobody makes in-game purchases for apps - especially not single players ones - and SW3 is another free-to-play flash game. Everything that they have done and will ever do concerning stickwar/empires is done because they enjoy(ed) doing it, and the small revenue from memberships is just a nice bonus. They're no longer focusing on it because they no longer enjoy it, and are therefore finding substitute projects. That's the most logical explanation anyway.

SW:L will pay for itself in video adds for a long time. That said I think you're generally right, SW1-3 almost certainly had/have no hope of paying for themselves and thus we shouldn't see money as the sole decision for the devs.

After Crown of Inamorta comes out, the devs are going to spend a few months or so on SE. Then they're going to do some work on Mini Legends, which is now going to be solely on the phone, due to the fact that the PC version would take more time. Stick War Legacy 2 or whatever it'll be called is confirmed, but they won't be starting on it for quite a while. Expect those SE updates, cause their day of wrath is approaching. :^)

I agree with this.

SW 3 wouldn't be that hard to make honestly, they already have all the core things coded and sorted, I say maybe a few weeks or less and they could pop it out. Not that much of a financial strain. Having Legacy as a revenue source is pretty solid though to help allow them to work on campaign and SE and whatever their next project is after ML and SWL2. There's also talk of hiring another coder to get some things done faster, which should be pretty sweet, since Brock is one dude. With 2 coders, Stick War 100 should be out sometime next year. :^)

Why would they focus so much on making other games, if we all like SE. SW games are good, but you spend 2-3 days playing one campaign. I finished SW:L in 1 week, and deinstalled the game, becasue i can do nothing with it. SE, almost everyone plays it for 1-2 years, but since the game is not patched, people get bored. Devs should at least balance the game and fix the bugs, we dont need new stuff that much.

CJ said SW3 will be realised on February.

Becasue there are 3 people working on 3 games, plus they have life too, i forgive them. But c'mon, at least they should check the mail. I remember long time ago, they used to respond in period of 15 minutes to 15 hours, which was amazing.

We can't do nothing at this point, so i suggest to everyone to shut up and play the game as it is and wait for the devs to do what they've promised. Hating them and spamming these useless post will do nothing.

Exactly ^

What they are doing with Legacy is making a tournament system with multiple personality AI's: A different experience every time. This allows all the people asking for more content and levels to have a unique experience every time with set rules and such. Then they can focus on SE while having SWL people happy.

This game is dead. Lacks of updates makes it so that the game never grows, just a constant cycle of players quitting and a few new players joining, but no growth.

I find it strange that they are still working on mini-legends (or ever started doing it at all in fact). MOBA games are so common now, and the genre is completely dominated by the likes of LoL and Dota 2. Stick Empires(wars) is very unique, and even though it technically falls into the same category as games like sc2, everything about it is different and refreshing.

Yeah, I don't see mini legends becoming successful. Even Blizzard, a multi-million dollar company, couldn't successfully break LoL and Dota's stranglehold on the genre. It would take nothing short of an absolute miracle.

This.

CJ is smart and catering to mobile markets. It's a hot bizz right now and it doesn't take a whole lot to profit.

This.

In app purchases are irrelevant if they get people consistently looking at ads to double down on gems. The second they add that Crown of Inamorta-different-experience-every-time-shebang, they'll be set to do whatever they want for quite a while. A bunch of games with ad rev = Pretty solid to work on SE without having as much of a financial strain if they even are in one?

If they were in a financial strain they wouldn't be making more flash games (sw3) or have been dishing out reasonable sums of money for SE tournaments. I wouldn't be surprised if animating/coding are cj/brocks hobbies anyway, and that they have jobs like anyone else. I really don't think their ambitions are money-orientated.

It could be a smart move to put mini-legends on mobile as perhaps it would stand out more, but I honestly don't see it doing much there either. People generally play apps while waiting for something, in which case the really simple games (that don't require internet access) fit the purpose well enough. Who knows though...

Then again there are games like clash royale where it's solely multiplayer battle. I think ML is kinda clash royalish tbh. You pick what troops (cards) you're bringing, then you fight, not manually controlling, only difference currently is you can buy them stuff to do more damage and such.

Kind of off topic but, what about SE3? Was that the mobile version?
