Slinging his guitar from his back, Timothy nodded at Dino's order.
He began to brace himself to discharge a powerful chord, hopefully something that would help.
They had to strike soon, however. Timothy looked around, his fingers ready.

(OOC: Apologies for the confusion everyone. Okay...scratching that last part out...)

Matthew walked swiftly after the group, keeping his eyes peeled for threats. As he moved, his thoughts began to drift back to his application. There had been one other applicant to the magician's game. Went by the name of "Vamprina" if he remembered correctly. At the last minute though, she'd let Matthew have her spot and warned him to treat everything as though it was a threat. Matthew brushed off the warning at first, but now it was nagging him. Also, he was pretty sure now that Vamprina had somehow known the magician...Abra (now he remembered!) ... at some point in time. Well, whatever had happened between him and her, it hadn't been good.

His thoughts were interrupted by the sight of an innocent-looking treasure chest devouring the metal zombie guy. Matthew's eyes widened and he put his hand on his ACST. Seconds later, the walls came alive with massive wasp beasts, the thrum of their wings putting him on edge. Those things were big enough to bite him in half...quite easily at that.

Okay...note to self. Don't kick weird stuff. Matthew thought, taking on a minor battle stance.

The noise of the insect's wings made it almost impossible to hold decent conversation, but he did hear the cross man say something about "showing no mercy". Matthew raised his ACST, flicking the switch. A light blue blade burst to life, lighting its owner's face in an epic glow. Seeing as the others didn't move yet, he waited, poised to strike or dodge.

The clicking of metal and the sound of sifting ash put the hornets on high alert. They quickly skittered away from the noise, too used to being ambushed by snakes or other such sneaky predators, like centipedes. The more nearby hornets zeroed in on the Anaconda being loaded and closing its wings two hornets began prowling forward, their carapace tight over their bodies. To close off possible escape routes, one jumped onto the roof, using its strong talons to dig into the rock face and march across.

Dino observed the battlefield, noticing that the hornets closest to him got alerted and they were zeroing in on him. Although the hornets were menacingly crawling towards him, he did not move a muscle. His eyes scanned throughout the anatomy of his foes: by the way they were crawling, the carapace was definitely very strong. They were protecting their belly, so that was the spot to hit.

"Hit the belly." he calmly stated.

Suddenly Dino pulled up his Anaconda and began raining hell, firing pinpoint accurate shots. The first two were aimed towards the belly of the two hornets that were still flying around, with the objective of thinning their lines. The rest were less accurate and pointed towards the hornets at his feet. Dino doubted those shots would kill, so they were more of a test. The trajectory was very particular: they were directioned towards the lower half of the hornet's carapace from an upward angle. Dino predicted that the carapace might deflect bullets, so he wanted to be sure that they will hit the ground if that happens. No undesired casualties.

Since her first attack was a complete failure, yet she still didn't attract any attention, Lilith had a short moment to come up with a solution. From what she knew, hornets had only few natural predators hunting them. None of them would work in such closed space and prey of that size, plus these were obviously no regular hornets. She had to create an impossible to happen in nature scenario, with a predator that could possibly work. Few seconds later she had an answer ready.

Telusian Scarabs.

The cloud of ash divided itself into a whole bunch of small fist-sized balls, that started transforming on the ground in front of Lilith. Each ball became a small, black, bettle-like creature with huge, long jaws that somewhat resembled an arrowhead. Their carapace was rough, and covered in small, solid spikes.

Even though she wasn't done yet, the whole swarm of these things was already approaching the nearest on-ground hornet. Some of them flying, some of them swiftly skittering on the ground. As the entities were much smaller insects, they shouldn't be seen as threat at first, though the new pheromones, sound and smell might be a whole different story. Scarabs seemed to have only one goal; get under the hornet, were the armor was obviously weaker. Once they were there, they would latch to the bigger insect and bite their way inside using their powerful jaws. Then, the host was to be eaten, and shredded by spikes of quick moving and ravenous scarabs from the inside, by the end leaving only an empty husk. [OOC: This is obviously what will happen if the attack is successful, not what is actually happening.]

However Lilith's goal was to kill hornets, not sating her creation, so if her plan worked and the attacked insect fell under the attack, she would guide the scarabs to the next target right after the previous one stopped moving.

Matthew dashed forwards, running with Lilith's insect swarm. He swung his ACST, closing in on the hornet the scarabs had targeted.

"HI-YAAAH!" he yelled, leaping into the air with his weapon raised.

He was aiming for the hornet's head, but as he flew, he realized he was flying a little faster than he wanted to. Normally he'd intended to blind the hornet with the light of his blade, just so that the ally scarabs could attack, but now two other things had the possibility of happening: One, everything would go well and the blade would blind the hornet (or even better, impale the bug's face). Two, the insect would see him coming and try to bite the blade, cutting its own jaws off.

Of course, there was always the possibility of missing it completely, but he tried not to think about that.

Staying behind the rest of the group, Timothy began to play a soft, country-esque song, hoping to give some calm into the panicky situation.
[OOC: If this works, it should sharpen the focus of the others.]

Attracted to the yelling, the hornet turned upward to take a bite out of Matthew, however the light saber burned into its head and the small alien sliced it open. The Telusian Scarabs, mandated by their mission, turned away from the dead hornet and charged the other one, who gnashed at the floor, attracted by the sound of skittering, however the small beetles climbed up its mandibles and burrowed through its mouth. The two in the middle of the cavern toppled to the ground, blood and gore dribbling out of its' stomachs. The furthest two swarmed upon the dying bodies, attracted by the blood and flesh. There was now a clean shot to the exit, if they moved fast enough.

Move!
Timothy wasted no time, and dashed toward the opening, guitar still in hand.

Dino's eyes darted around. That was too easy... but when he saw the guitarist make a run for it, he understood the others would do the same.

"Left corridor! Go!" He shouted at the group. Before his phrase could finish, Dino was already moving towards the cross and Nox. In a hurry he threw to unconscious man on his left shoulder and his cross on his right one. Running would have been a hard task for a normal person, but Dino was an exception. He bolted across the room, deviating by the pouch of gold laying on the stone floor. After moving his Anaconda in his left hand, he scooped up the bag and continued his run for the opening.

Matthew needed no prompting. He ran for the exit for all he was worth, clicking off his ACST as he did so.

With quick step, Lilith followed everyone else, having the Scarabs skitter behind her, securing their backs in case of a chase.

The group ran out of the exit, and screeched to a halt as they're faced with the same sign as the entrance. The exact same sign, because they were back in the exact same room. Behind them was the sealed exit of the cave that they thought they had left behind. "Hello lady and gentlemen." Abra stood in front of them. "I would've let you guys continue, but someone already died? Are you serious? Come on... I mean I know the rules said you could," He spun the sign to show extra instructions. "You can die up to three times, when you die you'll become a ghost that can interact with the group."

"Now you can reset the dungeon, like I just did for you, to bring ghosts back to life." He snapped his fingers and Nocturn appeared before them. "The maze will change itself accordingly, so then, good luck." He turned to leave but then spun on his heels and walked up to Dino, "One second, hey Nox! Wake up! You can't just piggyback this." Abra snapped his fingers and Nox woke up, completely healed besides his lack of an arm. "Now Nox, here's all your poisons back, now go have some fun k?" With his last words of encouragement, he disappeared. The group walk back down the hallway and they enter a room that's identical to the first one they entered. Sitting before them was the mimic leaning against a pillar and the six holes in the wall.

Nocturn watched Abra disappear in a huff as they are forcibly made to move back where they had all first entered. He was finally granted death, all the pain from the mimic's jaw and teeth were background noise in the midst of the pain he endured before all of this. I will need to crack that man's head when I can...

The zombie of Lantern's Cross gazed at his killer from across the room and exhaled. His hands were already gripping his metal rods that were sheathed to his waist this time however, he decided to wait.

"What do you people think we should do?" Nocturn growled, though he didnt mean to. It pissed him off what Abra had undone but he could do nothing as of yet.

Dino examined the room. He now knew the risks that this maze put for the group. He took a small step in front of the group, standing out from the mass.

"Listen, I don't trust any of you, and I'm sure the feeling is mutual across everybody. But we have to work together. This ain't no treasure hunt. This is about survival. And in order to survive we'll have to work together, whether we like it or not. Watch your six at all time and.be ready for everything."

Dino pulled up his cross on his shoulder and extracted his Anaconda from its holster.

"The mimic holds the gold, but I vote against angering it again. We'll find more gold further ahead. Let's keep moving, savvy?"
