"Well now that we've all been acquainted. Off you go!" Abra clapped his hands and the portal expanded, consuming the dimension and Abra with it, leaving the group in the middle of no-man's land. Everything was eeriely quiet then everyone heard a thump and tinkle. Dino turned to the impact and saw the bomb. "Flash-" he tried to warn the group but his voice was drowned out by the detonation. It was as if a small sun had ripped its way through the cannister, bringing with it the crescendo of artillery fire. The massive noise and light sent everyone to the ground, clutching their eyes and ears.
Walter, being paranormal was the only one who bore witness to the firefight that happened over the group's stupified bodies. Two squads crested over opposite hills and met with violent gunfire and rockets. Then it seemed like something caught their attention and they stopped firing to take notice of the group of incapacitated civilians. The ghost didn't have to guess what causes this strange shift and he just let Abra's play run its course as the groups ran down and grabbing who they could while the others kept their guns trained on their enemies. Dutifully, Walter followed Lilith as she got carried away.
You three wake up in a tent, having rested on iron cots. Your sudden movement informs the guard outside you were alive and well and runs off to get his superiors. The man is very tall and strong, he wears a trench coat over a tight grey shirt and has on baggy combat jeans and boots. On his back is a massive rectangle and he has gloves on both hands and a gas mask clipped to his helt. He himself didn't look too old but war had taken its toll, leaving scars and creases on his face. His dull blue eyes looked out of place as he looked at them. "You civis or mercs?" He asked loudly, letting himself be heard over the ringing still in your ears.
You four wake up in a barrack. The dim light in the room makes you shift your gaze to the ground, eyes still burning. But as you let your eyes adjust, you look up to see what looks like a teenage boy sitting before you all. He was carving an apple with a knife and simply watching you. When you make eye contact he smiles and begins talking. He sounds like he's talking through water as you can see his mouth move but only every odd word reached you clearly. "Found... civi... merc... work?"
