John looked at the group talking. He had a long, strong rope, some experience, and a frustration to vent on some animals or somthing of that ilk, now all he needed were directions. Hey AJ. I'm betting your monitering everyone's thoughts, right? You mind telling me which direction to go? I want to go solo. Looking around and seeing everyone's disregard of him, he smirked, a rare thing for him. I don't need new mechanics to learn. Although, I do wish I had it. It's actually starting to get to me. They think new tricks are power, huh. They think they can willy nilly attack, with no real thought or idea of biological propensities. We'll see. He removed a few bark plates from the tree on which he stood. Stop thinking like that, man. Be productive, gather as much stuff as possible. Never know when you might need it. He waited for the NPCs to say something or for AJ to bless him with answers, all the while, assembling a set of bark armor to wear under his own set, just for a little extra protection.

Noah picks up the pendant. "Depends on who they are, but if it's that lizard guy who's an archer as well, I don't really care for him. I'll give you my wolf armor, though; personally, since I've got this wood bow, I'd prefer the fireproofing." And he takes off the wolf armor and tosses it to Anec, before taking the fire pelt as well. "So, pendant and fire fur."

Getting up immediately, Tyler looked over directly at Noah. "I was doubting it when I first starting seeing it, but you've been going for last hits on both fights we've been in so far." He pointed at the two items Noah was holding. "I understand that contributions add to loot you receive, but you shouldn't pour all of the best items on yourself without a thought for the rest of the group. Anec has a valid point, and the way this is starting to repeat is getting ridiculous."

John grew weary of waiting on serendipity, and strode directly towards the group, who seemed to be doling out loot, and apparently having a disagreement. A perfect oppurtunity. He walked to the group, satisfied with his harvest from the jungle. He stated quietly with a slight edge to his words, "So, how's the loot looking?"

Tyler glanced at John for a moment. "We're... discussing it."

Noah looks at Tyler. "Hey, I've just been lucky. It hasn't been about getting any last hit in. That aside, I'm already giving some gear away, and I don't need the pendant anyways. So if you've got a problem, just try harder, dude. We're all supposed to be some of the best players ever, and I dunno how I got included in that list. But as is, we're not really friends, and out of all of you, the only ones I can say I definitely like are the NPCs and Oberon over there." He tosses the pendant over to Anec. "Consider this payback for helping earlier with the Ent, and whenever that Reiki person arrives, I'll give them my Wolf Armor. But this fire pelt here, I'm keeping."

Tyler sighed. "Last I checked, I top scored this time around. THAT is what truly doesn't matter. We do need to try harder, as a team. I appreciate what you just did, I really do. That still doesn't change the fact that the more of us who get together in a group to work at this game together, the better." He proceeded to pick up the tooth. "No one can really ask you to do anything more, especially not me, but a fellow can hope."

"Actually, we're beta testers. Whether we work together or not doesn't really matter. Really, we're supposed to push the game to its limits, see what works and doesn't work, note any bugs. You're taking this way too seriously. Oh god, is that what it's like going pro?" Noah shivers. "Just gonna note, I prefer campaign over multiplayer any day."

Tyler smiled a bit. "Yeah, you're right. A lot of this doesn't really matter. This is one big campaign of sorts. I'm asking you to work with us on it so we can all have fun on it as well as get through it. Beta testers or not, we are still playing a game which primarily is meant to be played as a team." He held a hand to the back of his neck for a moment awkwardly. "To be perfectly honest with you, I never truly pursued a competitive standpoint in gaming. I'm no more of an expert on 'going pro' than you are. It's probably hard to believe, but I never intended it either. We all play games to have fun. I'm going out on a limb here to ask you to consider that standpoint in the view of everyone else here."

Noah points at John. "Pretty sure this is the guy you should be talking to. He's been giving me 'back stabby as soon as PvP activates' vibes since we first met, and no, that's not because he's a coldblooded monster. No offense to the coldblooded monsters that're likely in this game. The fire dog wasn't one, that's for certain."

John looked at Noah, slightly intrigued. "I'll only stab you if you decide to be a problem. So, I suppose you are partially correct in having those vibes. But I don't understand how you've been feeling them. When you and I first met, I was about to fall on the ground to take a nap. From there, I've not interacted with you verbally, except for a few choice moments, during which I've tried giving you advice, such as shooting the Cerberus in the riib cage region. The most vulnerable spot of the wolf, yet you insisted on doing your own thing. I don't know what you're trying to do, turn everyone against me, comfort youself, but I don't really care. Honestly, you're the one giving off 'back stabby as soon as PvP activates vibes' right about now. I would tread lightly and think twice before I randomly accuse someone I've barely interacted with, friend." Finished with his monologue, John looked onwards and began searching the area nearby, hoping to glean more gear from the land.

Aelic and Seumas frowned behind their masks. "Geez, what's his problem?" The Skeleton asked quietly. Aelic slapped him on the shoulder, "Don't know, he's one of those guys I guess." The Archer replied.
Turning back towards the group, Seumas tilted his head, "That pendent doesn't really do anything. But hey, Tyler, I'll upgrade your sword with that tooth."
Aelic lifted a bloodstained finger, "Actually, that pendent is pretty valuable, you could buy some useful services with it..."

Noah shrugs. "Then even more reason to just pass it along to somebody else. Can I get this pelt turned to armor, and get some information on how levelling up works?"

Seumas took the pelt, turning his back to the group while Aelic explained. "Each monster you kill has a certain rarity. And rarity determines how much XP is gained. A common monster, like a wolf, gives one XP. A rare, like that tree ent, gives five. And each mini boss, like Cerberus, gives twenty XP."
Seumas turned around, holding a large black fur pelt. He continued the explanation. "Noah, you're currently level two. At level one, you required five XP to level up, and whenever you do, the requirement doubles. So then you need ten. But, having done some admirable damage to Cerberus and killed some enemies after leveling up, you now only need two more. Make sense?"

"Mini-boss..." Oberon looked at the singed marks on his shield. "I wonder how big the boss will be." He hadn't recieved any exp, seemed like he didn't do his job proficiently enough. The beast shrugged, I will have to work on that I guess... High dps was definitely the way to go in this game but Michel didn't regret making Oberon. "Well now that we're done here, might as well keep going forward." He looked over to Noah, "Shall we get you your two exp?"
