The winners will be announced on the 24th. That can be pushed back a few days at most, so if you're struggling for time you can have up until the 24th to submit and we'll do the judging during the following week. Other than that I will not be extending the deadline. In the past the generous deadline extensions created a lot of organisational problems and wasn't fair for those that finished on time who had to wait to find out the results. We're following a hard schedule on these competitions, so if you can't finish this time but would still like a shot, you'll have to wait until the next one starts in October.

Orrrr you mean that this extension is not considered as a deadline but more of a post-deadline extension that might or might not extend until the 23rd? (Note that I stated "might not" since I'm considering the possibility of the judging phase being done early and hence, the announcement is made before the 23rd [PLEASE NO ;.;])

You have until the 23rd to submit. This is the official statement. Judging will happen as entries are submitted. The results will not be announced until every submission submitted before the 23rd has been reviewed.

You may submit it whenever you'd like. We extended the deadline by one week for some people that asked for more time, so if you needed to make any final touches you can hold on a few more days until you're satisfied.

I've been fighting with myself over this for the past few days and I think I've finally come to the conclusion that I won't be finishing it. Shit hit the fan way too quickly in my life and honestly I could probably finish it and place, but there's already quite a bit I wish I had done differently and overall wouldn't be satisfied with the end result. I should be down range by the time the next one kicks off and I'll have plenty of time to devote to the next season. I think this one served me extremely well as a way to get back into animating and it had me trying a whole lot of different things that I'm honestly pretty happy about. Having not animated anything serious in years, this proved a lot more challenging than I anticipated, which was honestly a good thing. I feel I challenged myself quite a bit with the topic, but unfortunately with the time constraint and life working against me I won't be able to properly portray my vision. Again, thanks for the opportunity, Jeff, and I look forward to the next season.
