I made a dire mistake when I ran those games. I've been playing and running a few myself in other forums to moderate success since. I realize that I cannot run a good mafia game on a forum like this where the attention span is tiny, so I must re-evalutate my forum gaming skills here host simpler less twitchier stuff, unless its a voluntary one like Azure and Error's BattleCON

Someone's been not reading the thread. I gave 36 hours to respond. I left it open for 48. That's 2 days. Not 1. 2 Days where out of 7 eager users, only 3 ever replied.

I did wonder why the first day ran over 36 hours.

I let up a few hours because I thought I would be nice on the 1st round. You know, to set the pace. Tips and tricks to forum game hosting hahah

But seriously, the lack of anything else besides the 3 PMs was disturbing. I dont know if its because this place is truly dying or dead.


ANyways, actual game is coming. I'm just cooking it up. The battleCON thread has given me and idea; would you all agree to just post moves here in spoilers instead of PM-ing me?

You can post them like this . It'll make things go way faster I believe.

If there's any advantage from seeing the opponent's moves I think on-thread in any form would actually slow the game down because you'd be incentivising people to not post till the very end of each deadline. If you can design a game such that there is no advantage to see opponent's moves early then I think in-thread would work well but I'm not sure how any PvP game would be designable as such.

imo, there's nothing to incentivise because there is no prize to be won. And bragging points? What good does being an SE champion forum gamer do for this place? Nothing.
