this could potentially be interesting. post a song with some musical* similarity to the one above you and describe why you think it's similar in some way.
*this is just to prevent you from being a smart-ass and saying "they both have sound" "they are both made by humans" "they're both on youtube" "i heard both of them today" etc.
it doesn't have to be extremely similar and you can interpret "musical similarity" in a wide variety of ways or even abstractly. the main point is to force you to both listen to and think about the music someone else posts.
first song:
GO
Post a song vaguely similar to the song above you

closest thing I found in my current rotation, not my favorite off that tape at all, especially cause of Skippa's part, but Yachty's melodies and the dreamchaser vibe connect them to a certain extent
also felt like posting some nursery rhymes anyway

again, rising melody, repetitive chorus with exaggerated high pitch, similiar intros
except the tones are kind of the opposites aside

I'm kinda genre impaired as you can see :/

the bass synth that comes in at 0:52 combined with the ethereal slow-motion neon atmosphere and shimmery female vocals reminded me of slow-burn synthpop italo-disco whatever i.e.

Thumping drums with smooth pianos and fluttering vocals, aka my fucking shit
also sound quality is iffy on both

uplifting, repetitive piano floating over deep bass. strong emphasis on percussion.

Nice, I have just the one. Keys, upright bass, emphasized percussion, same overall dreamy atmosphere. Turn down the reverb a bit and mix in some drum n bass and you have this:
Sep 27, 2016 5:07 AM #1462201
jazzy atmosphere + fast-paced drums

played the op. played the last post.
nope.
nope.

getting some industrial vibes from that metal banging sound effect
Sep 27, 2016 9:57 PM #1462297
ominous atmosphere, angular guitar playing, disturbing vocals, unorthodox percussion made up of low thumping and rapid, higher-pitched clanging.
a fun fact is that they were both released in the same year (1979)
another fun fact is that both bands appear on the Nurse With Wound list... also originally released in 1979, although it's more likely that Tolerance appeared on the 1980 version. (NWW's second album is named after a phrase found in the liner notes of the Tolerance album this song is from.)
neither This Heat nor Tolerance had their first albums released on remotely popular labels, but NWW definitely discovered This Heat from John Peel giving them airplay rather than by coming into contact with their first album, which was released only a month before the NWW list. but i have no fucking clue how they got their hands on Tolerance's first album, especially that quickly. then again, Holger Czukay somehow found Phew similarly quickly, so maybe the whole Vanity Records / Rock Magazine movement made way more waves that it gets credit for (still doesn't even have a wikipedia page!)

Sounds kinda weird and has an asian chick on vocals
Sep 28, 2016 1:23 PM #1462371
soft vocals, lots of reverb in the mix, uplifting tonality
