another fun fact is that both bands appear on the Nurse With Wound list... also originally released in 1979, although it's more likely that Tolerance appeared on the 1980 version. (NWW's second album is named after a phrase found in the liner notes of the Tolerance album this song is from.)

neither This Heat nor Tolerance had their first albums released on remotely popular labels, but NWW definitely discovered This Heat from John Peel giving them airplay rather than by coming into contact with their first album, which was released only a month before the NWW list. but i have no fucking clue how they got their hands on Tolerance's first album, especially that quickly. then again, Holger Czukay somehow found Phew similarly quickly, so maybe the whole Vanity Records / Rock Magazine movement made way more waves that it gets credit for (still doesn't even have a wikipedia page!)
