Going into 2017, we had a bit of a discussion on the Skype chat to create; not a replacement of the Hall of Warriors, but an improvement of the ranking system there.
The Hall is an excellent list of all the current wRHG characters. However, the wins/losses/draws/forfeits system is flawed for both new writers and people who want to improve a lot and see themselves climb higher than other people on the ranking list.

-New members challenging better writers for the purpose of learning and getting better have it hard. The losses more or less never go away, where they remain as a bit of a thorn in the back of their mind for a long time.
-If someone really wanted to, they could challenge no one but writers they know they can beat and decline challenges from skilled opponents. If there's a desire for a ranking system, this makes it hard for the Hall of Warriors to be a list showing the best writers on the forum.

The proposition: a point ranking system. Winning gives you points, losing takes points away. The amount increases or decreases based on the points that your opponent has.

With the length of battles and the small amount of battles that happen, the numbers will be kinda large. Let's say two writers at the default (2000 points) battle. Winning or losing will give or take away 200 points. That's the base amount.

But if someone with 2000 beat someone with 3000 points, the base amount will be multiplied by 0.1 for every 100 points the higher ranked player is. So if the 2000 ranking player won, he would gain 200 x 2 points, and the other player would lose that much.

But the writer with the higher ranking won, we'd use division signs instead. 200 divided by 2, and thus the other player would only gain 100 points.

Also, forfeiting counts as a loss points-wise. Draws mean no change in points.

Damn straight. To enter this *COUGH* competitive Writer Ranking, I'm going to need you to submit to me... a 50x50 badge that represents your current RHG character. Heck, you could even submit a badge if you don't want to join the rankings but you want to have trophies for any writers that you beat. These badges of conquest will appear on this thread under your character, though you can also have it on your wRHG page if you want.

Skill Tiers:

Alphaeus wanted something like belts to mark progression up the ladder, so this is open for discussion. I was trying to think of an idea that worked, but I realized that tiers based on passing a certain point count is useless since high ranking players can battle each other forever to climb to really high point counts. Percentage-based tiers would be a pain in the ass to manage. If anyone can think of a good idea then this is open for discussion.
