Abilities (Click to Show)
Basic Abilities (Click to Show)
The ability to create a blanket of fog around himself within a 3-meter radius. Normally used to weaken someone's sense of vision. Cumulus is not affected by this, and he is able to see through the fog.
Mediocre self-defense skills, which include: Slightly-better-than-average kicks and punches, Excellent dodging skills from distanced attacks. Basic hand-to-hand combat knowledge.
He is immune to being electrocuted.
He cannot drown.
Energy Draining Abilities (Click to Show)
Just an explanation of this: Cumulus consumes water as his only food and receives all of his energy from it. Cumulus's attacks are energized solely by the water in his body. When he uses any of these abilities, he will drain, or "dry" a little bit. The more he uses these, the weaker he becomes, and he slowly starts to fade. If these abilities are used enough times, and he runs out of energy, he will die (vaporize). Cumulus fully controls these and can use and stop these abilities at will (unless if he is mentally interrupted)
Cloud Transformation (low energy usage. about 1% of his energy is used per second). The ability to transform into a cloud. Cumulus can freely move in this form, in normal circumstances with normal air (ex. outside at a park). His maximum speed is increased by 50%. However, he becomes incapacitated, and cannot attack anyone, but he also can't be attacked in this form either.
Cloud Creation (low energy usage. about 1% of his energy used per second). The ability to create a tangible cloud. Cumulus is able to interact with his cloud. Anyone else who attempts to do this will fail (as clouds are just clumps of water vapor). The cloud can be moved and can be used for transport. However, it always stays right above ground level, and cannot go any higher.
Mirage Form (Medium energy usage. about 2% of his energy is used per second). Cumulus can create mirages of himself, that look identical to his actual self. He uses his own body mass (or energy) to create these mirages. For example, if he created 3 mirages, he would use 50% of his body mass/energy to create them, each mirage having 25%, and Cumulus keeping 50% (the mirages always have half of the body mass/energy of Cumulus himself). The mirages he creates are also able to attack others, but they are all controlled by Cumulus. When the mirages are destroyed, or "killed", the mass/energy gets absorbed back into Cumulus. This, however, weakens Cumulus's attacks in strength, depending on how many he creates (ex. he has 3 mirages. Cumulus's attacks are at 50% his normal strength, and the mirages' attacks are at 25%)
Thunder Bolt (Medium energy usage. about 10% of his energy per use). An offensive ability. Can instantly form a thunder cloud, which is charged with lightning. Can be used to painfully zap someone with a thunder bolt.
Fog gusts (High energy usage. about 5% of his energy is used per second) Powerful gusts of fog and wind can come from any of his hands and feet. The gusts can be used to blow back other people. They can also be used like a jetpack, for flight. The gusts push him off the ground, up to 7 feet high, and Cumulus can control his direction of movement from which way he points his feet and hands. However, in the flight form, it requires extreme focus and balance. Even the slightest disturbance can cause him to fall.
Story (Click to Show)
Childhood-Late teens (Click to Show)
Cumulus was an adopted child, that supposedly fell from the sky. His adoptive mother, Amanda, discovered him at a neighborhood park and took custody of him. She then named him Cumulus, because it was the first cloud name she could think of, and he fell from the sky. Cumulus was at first mocked by other kids when he started going to school, because of his powder blue colored skin and has been homeschooled ever since. Over the course of his childhood, Cumulus slowly discovered his abilities one by one and began to practice controlling them. He hid who he truly was every time he went out in public, by changing his skin color temporarily with makeup. He went to a public school for about a year, before dropping out due to social stress. As time passed on, he became very socially awkward, having never fully associated with others his age, he never truly learned how to act around others.

The start of Cumulus's Story
Amanda shoved past the crowd at the local neighbourhood park. People were whispering and chatting towards each other.
"What is that thing?"
"Is it a bomb?"
"I think it's a monster"
"Look it's moving!"
She glanced around to see what the commotion was about. The park is usually quiet, so she wondered why there could be such a big crowd. After all, what's so special about the neighborhood park? Amanda turned her head around and looked at the crowd
Everyone pointed towards the sky, murmuring things to each other.
"Do you think its an attack?"
"I think we should run"
"Maybe it's an airplane piece"
"It's coming closer!"
Amanda then looked upwards. Right above her was a barely distinguishable light blue blob, slowly falling down towards her and the crowd. Amanda had to squint her eyes to see it since the blob blended in with the bright blue sky.
"Everyone calm down, it's probably nothing to worry about"
"It kinda looks like a baby!"
"Do you think it's an alien?"
She didn't think much of it. At first, she thought it was probably some cargo dropped by accident from a plane. However, it didn't look much like airplane cargo, so she looked closer. She tried to find specific features on the blob. She was able to distinguish a head with a face.
"I think it might explode!"
"It's going to fall on us!"
"Everybody run!"
"We're all going to die!"
A few moments later, panic started to break out. Amanda was curious, as she had just arrived at the scene. She wanted a closer look at the blue blob. She wanted to know what it was, for real. Was it a bomb with a face painted on?
People pushed past her in fear, as everyone ran and started to leave the park. People were scared, and everyone tried to get away as far away as possible. One or two teenagers tried to pelt rocks at the object, but it started to let out loud high pitched noises and the teenagers fled.
Amanda just stood there, as the crowd left, and she was the only one still there. She stood there watching the blue object, observing it, taking in every single detail. As she focused on it more, she was able to distinguish more than just an ordinary face. It was the face of a child. The face of a baby.
She continued to stare down at the object, and then she saw arms and legs flailing in the air. She then saw a blue body. She saw a baby falling from the sky.
The blue baby wasn't that far from hitting the ground, and then something in Amanda's mind clicked.
She sprinted ahead, towards where the baby was falling.
The baby's shadow shrunk and became darker and more detailed, rather than a gray blur on the grass.
Amanda held out her arms, in an attempt to catch the small child, but she then thought
"I'm going to get hurt if I do it like this"
Amanda then tried to find a way to catch the baby, without getting herself hurt. She didn't have much time, so she had to think fast. She took off her backpack and opened it up. She searched for a soft net-like object, as the baby plummeted towards the ground, getting closer and closer.
She pulled out a thick wool sweater that she was going to donate from her bag, and tried to cut it open, so it ends up like a sheet of the fabric, and use it as a net. She took out a pocket knife and cut open the sweater as fast as she could.
At this point, the blue baby was only meters away from the ground. So, Amanda got up, and sprinted towards the baby.
The baby grew closer to the ground, 30 meters, 20 meters, 10 meters.
Amanda steadily held her sweater below the baby.
The baby grew closer, and closer, until....
The baby fell on the sweater, the velocity sending a big *RRIIIIPP* on the sweater. The baby flew back up and fell right into Amanda's arms. Amanda let out a sigh of relief and took a look at her sweater. The sweater was on the brink of falling into pieces. If the baby had fallen any harder, the sweater would've broken and the baby would've been on the ground.
Amanda took a look at the baby and saw a big bruise forming on the baby's back from the velocity of the fall. The baby was crying, but Amanda was relieved that the baby was alive. If she weren't there, the baby would've been dead by now.
Amanda took a sigh of relief and held the baby in her arms. All she needed to do now was to find a home for the child.

*SLAM!*
The door of the orphanage slammed in front of Amanda's face, as she held the blue baby. The harsh biting words of the orphanage keeper continued echoing in her head.
"Why should we accept that ghastly monstrosity? I heard he fell from the sky! Why would we want him!? No one's going to want to adopt that THING!"
Amanda held the baby in her arms. She was scared. Was she going to raise this child? It seemed she had no choice.
The baby started to cry, as tears streamed down its soft blue face.
"Shh shh, it's okay little baby. You'll be alright" Amanda cooed.
Amanda cradled him, and he fell back to sleep.
"I'm going to raise you as my child. You'll be safe. It's okay"
Amanda looked up at the sky, where she saw the baby fall. She saw a puffy cloud, which reminded her of a science lesson she was in back in high school. The teacher said the cloud was called a Cumulus. Amanda then looked back down at the baby and made a smile.
"I'm going to name you Cumulus, the name of a cloud. Your hair is as puffy as a cloud, and you're as gentle as a breeze."
Amanda then walked back to her home, holding her new son "Cumulus" in her arms.
However, at the time, she didn't know this would be the beginning of something that would change her life forever.
