http://www.fileize.com/files/30a6b07e/2ee/ouch.swfheres my second animation testing out some new things i learned in the tutorials. lemme know what you think

It's kinda smooth, but it's really wobbly, and your stick construction could need a lot of work. And the force on the bullet/spike needs to be emphasized more. Try something basic, like animating a run, or try animating something that could show force. Keep practicing!
Here's a tutorial on stick construction (by Hyun): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zOouzsIPNWs

here this is what I made, I've always wanted to animate 'benders' (fire, earth, water and air) inspired from the Avatar series.. I'm now going to practice it, because I think I've got the character animation down..
here is my first test, if anyone has any tips on how to create 'fire' coming out of a characters hand, or any tutorials I'd love to see them! this isn't exactly how I plan the fire going to look like, but I really have to learn how to animate different kind of fires right now.. because I can't animate a firebender. eitherway here it is:

It looks okay. It needs to have more flow though if you're aiming on creating nice flames. I can't find any tutorials for particles, but the blood particles might help! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtUEn2S7lYM

It's too choppy, and it's pretty wobbly. It lacks a lot of easing and in order to show force in the stick's movements, you need to add anticipation. Practice and animate a single punch first, then when you get your easing and anticipation right, slowly make your way in making a combo. Here's a tutorial by Terkoiz, it might help: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxaj5zyB2Po&feature=related

It's too fast and choppy. Aim for flow and add some easing. Try animating a walk first. (tut by Terkoiz)

1st one: That's really good! Love the RHG! And use "Stream" for your sounds and songs next time. :P
2nd one: A little too choppy for angles, but it looks pretty good.
3rd: Lol.

Man, I haven't animated a while. http://www.fileize.com/view/cd2b0e96-08c/
I'm not really sure how it looks when someone swings a bat, so I took a guess.

Yep no anticipation.
He needs to take a step forward while his body goes back a LITTLE
Then the body should flow to the front
and BAM! with the bat.

Okay, here's the good thing, I notice that it actually looks kinda good. There's flow in it, though it's pretty wobbly. Make it less wobbly and improve on the movements. Feet keeps sliding like the floor's polished and shiny. Add anticipation and some easing after each attack. Good try though. Keep practicing. :)

It doesn't really matter if you use pencil or brush or line (anything really). It's your style, it's the matter of being comfortable on the tool you're using.
For the vcam, it's a little too close to the sticks. If you want to make close up punches, you'll need to do angles. Just a suggestion, if you want to show a little more force in the attacks, shake the cam a little bit, depending on how strong the attack is. We wouldn't recommend that you use vcam right now though, don't go too fast in adding that up in your anims. They can be a pain to use if you don't know much of the basics in terms of animating. You still need a lot to learn. So keep practicing.

Karateka, I think you need to work a little more on stick construction. Have you tried any basic practices?
