I'm busy tryi'ing to master the essence of flying...
I would appreciate some feedback on this

You should make the stick slowly float up and down, not spread his arms and legs like that. The speed of wings should be determined by their size. Also make the wings go more up and more down. Don't forget to apply easing to everything. Flow is crucial for flying animations.

Here's another one:

Hello everyone! I'm going to post my first three animations up here. I'm following the tutorial comiplation posted up by Zed, so these are probably all things you've seen before, as well as probably being worse than the previous ones. Please, do critique my animations as I'd really like to know where I can improve.
Also, I've noticed that, for some reason, when I save the animations as .gifs they slow down considerably. I'm not sure how to fix this, I HAVE tried fiddling with the "Save as gif" settings, but have had no positive results so far, only making it slower. If anyone know's what's going on, I'd really appreciate some help with that as well.

Two: Learning walking with my custom stick (Should loop)

Three: Learning running with my custom stick (Should loop)

Both look really nice, pretty smooth <:
Arms felt a bit stiff on the first one tho, I want to see more movement in 'em! I'd also like it if he wasn't stuck there in the middle and moved a bit instead, lol.
Second one, I see that you moved the arms, but you got to move them more to please the eyes! Otherwise, they both look pretty damn neat :3

Arms are stiff like that in real life, but i guess i could go for beauty & style not just boring realism c:
Also, i just noticed walking animation is a bit shaky. I better go fix that!
Thank you, Sharp. You're the man!

Radon, sweet job with the run and walk loop tests. You animated them both very nicely. May I just start off by saying you have a very very nice spacing style, especially for Pivot, your spacing looks like a flash animation because it's so fluid, you've nailed that aspect nicely, you also remind me of Old-school animators from 2006 ;p I would suggest working on poses though, they seem to be your weak point. On the run loop for example, it looked good, but the front leg shouldn't stay straight out like that, I mean theres nothing wrong with it technically, but to add more fluidity I would od advised bending the leg more and straightening it on the way down, would look more believable. Walk loop was nice too, perfect spacing on it. However a very minor flaw would be the pose on the back leg, you shouldn't of bent it like that, it looks a bit awkward, if you kept it straight it would of looked fine. Also I love that animation you posted on the top of the page with the animated words. You really do have a cool old-school fluid spacing style. I'd advise you to practise some more movements and try to make the poses the best looking way possible, they don't have to be realistic, just anything that looks good :) Keep it up, if you are going to regularly animate in pivot maybe you could join in on the Staff vs Regulars event on DD and challenge us ;)!

Radon, for me this walk loop seems really perfect, damn smooth and realistic, good spacing between steps... Nothing to say for me, it's too great. Keep it up !
My first animation posted in this thread (made with Stykz, not Pivot) pretty sweet because of Lithium :

Without Lithium it looked like that :
