What he means by hairy is the fact that its made up of scribbles. Beams should really either be clean and straight, or firey looking. Hair/scribble beams never look good.

Since you still don't even really know the basics how can you have a style? Get the basics down before developing a style.
Go back to square one. Animate a ball moving around the screen. make sure to show physics, smoothing and easing.

Anyway i made a new one, it's just a simple jump but the landing sucks and he's pretty stiff

it still needs anticipation at the jump itself but its pretty good and resizing is when your animation doesnt really stay the same size,like if an animation was big then it just got small for no reason hope i helped?
