This animation got first place in the High School Regional Computer Fair. The judges loved it! I have this site to thank for teaching me animation skills! I learned literally everything I know about animation on this site. I don't know how to thank This site other than to keep helping other members and to put you guys in the credits as well as the trifold that represents me.

Thank you stickpage.com!

I got a big trophy and I will be representing my school for the statewide competition where I believe nearly 16 skilled animators have qualified who I will be up against!

Time to spruce up my animation. I only have one month!!

If i win I get 500 bucks!

Yay!

Why aren't you thanking Avatar: The Last Airbender? You obviously stole the ideas from that show.

You know, I am trying to thank this forum for my animation skills. We do not need retarded comments like that.

First of all, have you ever seen on that show the water configuring other water? No. They are figures from water controlling other parts of the water. Is it illegal to play around with floating water? No!

I would be stealing ideas if that kid with the arrows on him came in and started ****ing the figures and "Bending". The parts where figures control other pieces of water were not intended to be in relation.

I admit that you can relate the them. It isn't hard to see some similarities. In fact I was thinking while making the sketch for this: "will people think this is related to avatar in any way?" I thought some people may have logic and thought of it with an open mind, however I was apparently very wrong.

I tried to keep the idea different and meaningful. The animation was sort of inspired by the quote at the end of my animation.

Just get out Cereal Man. You don't know me nor my intentions. If you are still holding a grudge from when you spammed the forums, just suffer in silence or PM me. Don't make accusations like that without knowing the background of my animations.

If you guys are only going to accuse me of things while I am trying to thank you I will just close it. I am sorry that I am trying to be nice.

Well, mostly if you helped out before when I started out, but I am just putting it out there as a thank you to the community as well, so yes, thank you too!

:3

Thank you, Firefly.

Please comment on the film if it would not hinder your lives as much as this topic. :P

I've never seen avatar and don't plan to, but I sincerely doubt it was the first show to ever feature liquid physics and a gimmick in the animation. People use blobs and liquid particles in animations all the time, they're just fun to animate and look cool.

On topic, congrats on winning the competition. I watched your animation and it was good. It was a tad bit jerky and sometimes the physics felt "off", but considering how difficult it can be to animate water nicely, you did a great job of it. I didn't really get the point of putting the quotation at the end, but whatever, it makes you look all smart and stuff and fools people into thinking the animation had a deeper meaning. That had to have scored some points with the judges right there.

Was that done with a tablet? Because if it turns out that was done with a mouse I will be hugely impressed.

That was a pretty decent animation, you've improved from what I've seen before. The particles acted kind of strangely though, instead of having a consistent size for them and having them dissapear have one or two larger line glob things (not sure how to explain it) dissentegrate. and instead of having the animation be a black and white sort of thing, maybe simply create a monochromatic color tone, it would keep the feel of the animation but make it a bit more visually pleasing.

Interesting music choice, makes it feel sort of indie, which might be what you were going for, but I would preffer something with a bit more. Keep it instrumental though, lyrics wouldn't contribute. Other than this and a few other basic tweaks like basic movements, which you can work out yourself, the animation looks well done.

Good luck with the competition, $500 would be nice.

It was done with a Wacom. :(

Thank you for looking at it with an open mind, Pirate. The quote was really meant to bring depth into the animation and get them to wonder. It would not be as much of an eye catcher without it.

The Physics I must fix. They have been bothering me since day 1 and I have to put that on my checklist of fixes. I need to smooth out their outlines as well The sloppy brush style almost cost me the win in my opinion.

I am glad you liked it, Pirate. The people at my school love it, and I think it is because most of them have never seen an animation before.

I will look at the particles. Thank you for pointing this out, I need this to be perfect, and I only have one month. Now when you say monochrome you mean staying near the same scale of gray? because it is already black and white. Maybe I do need to darken the sun and moon just to have the colors fit more in a crisp, fitting way. :P

A good friend of mine, Bobby Davis, made the music on his keyboard recorded through his friend, Dan's computer. I dont plan on us changing it. It flows well with the animation already. Maybe adding a synth would help a bit in some parts, but mostly I think he did more than good enough. Immune's credit music fit as well. I am very lucky he picked up creating songs again.

Once I finish the animation for Cheesy's collab I will get right into the editing.

1st: 500
2nd: 300
3rd: 100
Honorable Mention: 25 <
I already won 20 bucks for a school comp, so I really hope I do well in this and get some real cash.

Thank you, Glass and The Pirate!

More comments would be nice if you have opinions to add. :)

(well, 8 people... :P)

But yeah, well done. I hope you win.

Congrats! Often I find that in High School, not many people really are into digital arts.

I just found this at my school. Some white kid that calls himself "Pedro" told me about it last year. Now I am winning it. :3 I will put in a preloader to my own making as soon as possible.

The competition sucked in my high school. It was 2 people. 2 people advance to regionals. The other guy is slanted. I think he got 4th... But some okay animations were entered into regionals, and I thought I wouldn't win for a bit with this 3d star wars yaoi (spelling?) crap
