I know most of you guys hate hip hop/rap so I might as well let it have it's own thread so you can just ignore it if you don't like it.
Anyway, post all your hip hop recommendation and anything else in here.
I find some new guy who you should really look out for in the next year, his name is Asher Roth and he's a skinny, nerdy white guy from the 'burbs who is pretty awesome.
His first mixtape has songs produced by Andre 3000, Dr.Dre, Kanye West and a whole host of other top names.
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=bOsh_TuVJvY&feature=related I love college, probably his best song.
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=tATZN58oZ3Q&feature=related Roth boys, my favourite song from his mixtape.
I really liked I Love College, even though it's just that Weezer song with different lyrics.

Congratulations mainstream Rap! You've managed to make ONE hit song that isn't about drugs, strippers, or money! Now you just need to make them not suck.

There's no way that's his best song. It's just the song that's most popular, for some reason. I heard this remix he did of Ludacris' Run Away Home and that sounded alright.
Speaking of white rappers, a local radio show was listing off the top 10 last night (it's one of those shows that are pretty big into hip-hop since the host is a black dude). Was happy to here that they were mostly underground. Atmosphere, Sage, Cage, El-P, a lot of them were from that group Aesop Rock's from.

I wish hip hop hadn't sunk to a level where "famous wealthy drug dealer" is a synonym for rapper.

It didn't. Mainstream isn't hip-hop. At least not what I hear on the radio. I call it (well I didn't make this up) hip-pop.

That's exactly what I call it spazz.
It's completely turned into pop.
Im a rapper, and im bringing back the 90's.
I would link to some real shit but I got Biterphobia.
