@jeremy: He first got popular back in the 70's, when he was young and fit, and it wasn't quite so disgusting to think of him getting laid.

I know, but he still talked about that stuff when he was older.

True, though it was usually in passing, like opening an act with "You know what nobody talks about anymore? Pussyfarts!" and then changing subject.

Except if you replace the divine being with logic is loses its meaning completely and becomes something else

LOL
You're a fucking moron.

You're the fucking moron.

Replacing the divine by logic isn't the same as calling logic divine, dumbfuck.

And God is comparible with logic.
They were both created to get us to understand things.

And, saying they're the same, I'm saying they're comparible.
COMPARIBLE.

So basically you're just creating a new term and saying "yeah that fits in to George Carlin's category". You can't replace divine with logic without creating a whole new term altogether. So no he isn't a Prophet because a prophet is only "A person who speaks by divine inspiration or as the interpreter through whom the will of a god is expressed." You can't change the meaning of a word and then call it the same thing just to make something/someone sound better than they are.

Yeah, I wouldn't go as far to say that. I can see where he's coming from, but he's still wrong.

You're acting as if "logic" is some concrete entity that we "created" some time in the past as a means to explain things. It's the same way with science: it's the name we use for the entirety of deduction, which is a natural concept engraved in the way the world works. It's a method that's not purely human, it just requires human intellect to pursue it.

God on the other hand is, if he exists, a specific force in the world, in much the same way you would call "physics" a force in the world. If he does not exist, then he is a purely made-up, concrete thing, an object created to explain things.

So if what Copycat is saying is true, candies are comparable with divine because they taste so good and only divine forces could have created such a thing! George Carlin must be the prophet of candy!

By the way you misspelled COMPARABLE a shitload of times.

Well, ever since 3 months after he died, I took a look at all of George Carlins shows. And I getta tell ya, I love the man. But I'm not gay.

Anyway, what George Carlin does, what makes him a little different than other comedians, is that he spends almost all of his shows (so not alll of them), to tell you the damn truth about everything. With humor. He tells us things in the way he sees truth in them and he has a very convincing way of telling us.

Now, with this, he's kinda similar to Jesus, Mohamed, or any other prophet, right?

I mean, he brings us 'the word of God', which, in this case, is logic/truth.

Can he be seen as a Prophet of Logic?
Only without prayer, a book, an afterlife or a church-like building to go to, because that's just shit.

It's hard to be clear on this but it shift's to a NO more then a YES.

He says truth and logic with comedy as you mentioned. He does it in a convincing way, and right idea of how things work. But not quite the style.
He uses violent and cursing language. He somewhat crosses the line in some cases. A prophet is a role modle of correct style of life and to send the exact words from god to guid people in their life.
He does it for entertainment. So he's just a wise man who speaks of strong truth in a relifing and entertaining language.
