Think of everything you ever did wrong. Count them. Then think: you wouldn't consider each one and think "It was entirely my fault. I am a complete ass." You'd be optimistic about these things. Instead of putting yourself down, you'd think "Sure I messed up, but it could've gone a lot worse." So don't put people down for doing exactly what you would if you were in that situation.
