I devoted 6 years to this website and I'm still fond of it.
I can't find another community like this.

It made makes me want to come back when ever I leave for a month or two.

Yes, the website will eventually die. None of us will probably active when it does though. It could happen in days, weeks, months, years, etc.

I doubt everyone is just going to decide to grow up and leave within a week. Something like that is not going to happen.

It's obvious that the site is more about socializing than animating or artwork. All of the good animators basically left, so if the website does 'die' and only noobs visit here, they won't get better because no one good will probably lurk anymore.

Personally, I think the pivot section and the games section are shot. They should be deleted. In my opinion at least. Not saying pivot is a bad program. Easytoon as well. Those boards are barely active.

SP is like the opposite of fluidanims. We have 7 boards in the show-off section. Everything else is basically for socializing or commenting about the animations/games/art in the portal. While fluid anims only has 4 social boards. So FA focuses more on animation that stickpage, obviously. FA also has a lot more kick ass animators.

SP isn't dead or going to die, its more of a social forum than anything else. The name misleads noobs into thinking that it isn't, causing most of them to leave right after joining.

Just like any other website like SP, they're all going to die eventually, but not by some random leave of all of the members. It's like a slow and painless death. It will take years.

To be honest I'm not really sure why I still come here, there are better communities out there more active in the stuff I enjoy doing, but I've been here longer than anywhere else.

But yeah, this place isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Yes, I was, back when SP had a lot of original jokes and the like (none of this 4chan wannabe stuff)

I wasn't an admin (I was a moderator for a while) except when every other moderator and admin went on vacation the same few weeks and Polnareff made me into Admin to overlook everything, and it was only RIGHT when they started getting back that someone got into Jay's account and messed with the forums.

I got blamed for whatever reason and never trusted with mod status, even though I was the highest candidate at the time when Zulu got back

I think not long later, Zulu actually banned me because he lied about stuff and he doesn't like the truth

He also never gave me dat purple for whatever reason

But its all fine and dandy now, I mean when I last animated he actually offered to host an animation I was working on (and never got around to finishing, how original of me) and yeah

I even had this little guy when Zulu came back and was looking for some moderators



I've been getting back into animation lately though, just not very far into anything. I look back at the FEW stuff I have left (and remember the stuff I don't have saved) and I think how good I could've been had I finished anything.

Oh, and while I'm at it, this was when something happened to Jay, about the same time SP got frieked.



I don't think ANY of that would answer your question, but my guess is, Zulu doesn't care about or update the purple names anymore, and when he last did, I wasn't on good terms with him.

Anyway, I've joined like 3 years ago and I still like this site. I tried leaving once but I couldn't find any other website quite like this, so I returned.

I probably won't leave until I'm 18. And even then, I'd probably still lurk.

The community wont die. It just won't.

The only way it will, is when Jay stops paying for the site and the forums get shutdown.

But it won't "just" happen, where everyone decides to just go away.

Someone else will pay for the site.

With massive advertisements.

I forget SPP has ads until I scroll down.
