Okay, I mixed together four songs by venetian snares into this. It is slow and creepy at first, but it picks up to make room for some really freaky shit to happen.

That's all I use, I can't afford an actual hardware synthesizer. I'm saving for a MIDI keyboard though

I got a pretty lame m-audio o2 25 for my birthday. it gets the job done, but i wish it had a pitch wheel instead of these two pitch bend buttons

Thanks much for all the suggestions.

Venetian Snares is some very fucked music, for lack of any other suitable adjective.

Sadly I couldn't incorporate all of the wonderful terrifying things you guys recommended as a result of due dates, and the fact that our video could only be a minute and a half long. But now I have a nice library of scary sounds if for some reason I decide to revisit the project.

I'll see about getting a copy of the video from the school computers and uploading it for you guys to see.
