I hope you are being sarcastic. I mean, don't get me wrong, I enjoyed those DJ Steve Porter mixes, especially the sports one, but used anywhere else is just cutting corners. There are people with actual singing talent getting outshined because some no talent hacks know how to edit their voice. And it's turning hip-hop into some techno pop shit, i.e. Boom Boom Pow.

I'm looking at AutoTune more like something to save you some time in the studio. Even someone with huuuuge singing talent will likely need a lot of takes to get every bit of the song just perfect and autotune helps reduce the time it takes for that. The problem is that music today is drilled for perfection, every small mistake is terrible. I don't like that, but you have to go with popular trends to a certain extent, no matter what.
Where it shouldn't be used anyway are live gigs, just because live should be... live and natural. And turning hip-hop into technopop shit isn't what AutoTune is for, that's just some terrible bastardisation of the program's working.

I use auto tune, it can save performances. I dont rape it like some musicians do, however ... *COUGH* T-PAIN *****ING COUGH COUGH COUGH*
