I went to a boy's school because it was one of the top twenty in the country, not because of a sexual desire. Only two people out of 120 in my year were openly gay. Usually a large proportion of those that are would be expected to cover it up. If about half are in your school then it's probably because it's become cool to say you are for some reason / peer pressure. Or they're testing secret new obscure biological weapons on the grounds. Or, my prefered explanation, people are all spreading malicious rumours about each other and gay is just being used as an insult rather than in the literal sense.

im not saying that youre going to an all boy school for sexual shit, i would just assume that being somewhere for 4 years where there are no gals around seems like it would be gay.

I can not wait for the day when society as a whole understands this. Gays are one of the few minority groups left where it is socially acceptable to hate them.

I am seeing a steady decline in gay-hate among people here in Oklahoma. I think that the problem is beginning to go away, though it'll still be ages before it fades too noticable.

If you read carefully, I was in no way "fucking" with anyone because of their sexual orientation. I don't have a problem with gay people. I mean Christ, I'm friends with a gay guy from Korea who is mistaken for a girl 99 percent of the time.

I'm getting the same vibe at my highschool here in California. I live in a very conservative district, and as a freshman I remember conversations that went like this:
"hey have you heard about such-and-such? I heard he is pro-gay"
"OMG that's disgusting why would anyone be like that!"
"He must have a brother or uncle or something that's gay."

Now, as a junior, the conversation is more like this:
"Oh, you're for gay marriage? Well I'm not, I just don't like the idea of having gay people getting 'married' and such."

The general consensus is still that gays are not acceptable, however. At least there isn't total ignorant bigotry and hate anymore.
