I'm looking for something to play around with and I only know of FL Studio, which is really hard to use to make anything remotely competent. Are there any other high end music making software out there?

Jesus Christ, you'd think an older member would atleast know where the damn help section was, right?
Right?

You're out of luck if you're looking for something as high end as FL and MORE SIMPLE.

Not simpler, just more compatible. FL starts you with a shitty drum machine and then focuses on the timeline as a secondary function to their weird way of organizing every single sample/audio clip/everything into the annoying rhythm interface. On top of that, the cutting is impossible to manage, as well as the fact that to make any one of your beats you make with their shitty drum machine work, you have to align the tempo PERFECTLY with any sample you're using, which simultaneously makes it impossible to use more than one sample and still be able implement the drum machine in any way.
And I'll look into those, Unibomber.

Match it to the bpm and get your own drum samples o.o
It's a pretty intuitive and easy interface if you learn some of the basics

dude, fl studio is one of the easiest and most accessable. You just have to put some time into learning it all.

I use fl as a sequencer and reason for synths, I rewire them together so reason acts like a midi tool towards fl

Christ, how many stuff do you sample, then? A song shouldn't be made of more than 1 or 2 sampled passages to spice it up, everything else is supposed to be your own arrangement. And it can't be hard to either adjust the project's tempo to the sample or the other way around then.

whats that program that takes up like 60GB? I can't see why anyone could want/need it.

I mean there's really no official limit to how much you can sample, and i just mean that the drum machine is a real pain in the ass if you want to use any sample in tempo, and due to the fact that you have to put everything into the drum machine sequencer (even stuff that shouldn't use a drum machine interface such as melodies) makes it impossible to work with different tempos, change speed at any point in the song, or do anything outside of the rigidness of the drum interface, which is how it should be for making a beat, but they instead had it be used for everything else too, which makes it a huge pain in the ass.
Anyways, I downloaded Reason, so this thread is now a debate about FL.

And uh, yeah all my songs kinda suck right now but I'm trying to get better.
Edit: Oh whoops didn't answer your question.
Yeah I don't really understand how to get simpler then FL Studios
