didn't watch video but you can't really apply anything to "americans." the american government and military might act a certain way, but there isn't really any connection between that and what Americans think, especially considering a huge majority of the population is fairly dissatisfied with the current administration...

Pagan, it doesn't matter what civilians think when our military members make the news because of their outrageous behaviour. Other people will think we all agree with their actions, even if they know it's unreasonable.

Although that video doesn't show all Americans it is still the image of Americans that the world sees.

I know a lot of people who hate the US, but I don't really care. It's pretty stupid though. Just because the government is making mistakes/dumb choices, it doesn't mean all the people are like that. I won't make such a rough generalisation like that.

And like somebody else already said, lots of people are ignorant in Europe aswell. Stupidity is universal.

Well a lot of the "World-Wide Police" mentality comes from the Roosivelt Corrollary which was, essentially, an act of defense and from the post-WWII era and the beginning of the second "Red Scare" and Mcarthyism.

The folks who proposed the specific acts in each case weren't arrogant bastards who wanted to rule the world, it was mostly done in defence and maintaining the status quo.
