I heard some people saying that the brush in Cs3 sucks? Why is this and why is flash 8 better?

Its a matter of preference really for CS3 I personally prefer 8. But if you're getting flash for the first tome get CS3 because when they come out with the next version of flash it'll be heading in that direction so you'll be used to it. CS3 does have a habit of crashing on most computers, just make sure you save every 30 minutes or so and you'll be fine.

having said that, cs3 has never crashed for me... 8 did all the time, i use brush but cs3's brush is good for fb's cos u can modify it after and it more finely tuned with it being thinner but yea its a matter of preference

Flash 8, easier to use, better preferences. CS3 is not as good, but that's the people's choice. =/
Guess we just have to wait for FLASH 10 =D

Why on Earth would they make the brush tool smaller?

Either that was sarcastic, or you didn't understand my question.

Why would Adobe make the maximum brush size smaller in Cs3 in comparison to the maximum brush size in Flash 8? It's much easier to draw stickfigures with a larger brush tool, you know.

I mean, would you rather draw something with an extremely small pencil, or a larger pencil?

They don't know that we use flash to make stick figures. I guess they though having them bigger was uhm, unnecessary. And it really just depends on what you're making.

CS3 does have a habit of crashing, but not on all computers.

If you've used flash before stick with 8, if you're getting it for the first time then go with CS3. Or you can ultimately wait for Flash 10 to come out as Aklemo said.

Well, the point is, why would Adobe purposely limit something in a newer version of one of their products?

But that's their flaw, they were wrong to do that.

It's only limiting if everyone animates stick figures, and on top of that, uses the brush tool to animate them.

That was sort of an explanation in itself.
It may be easier to draw stickfigures with a bigger brush, but I don't really think they thought about that and just got on to making CS3 (in other words, what Brian C said). Which leads to the question - Why can't they keep the small brushes AND the big brushes?

I also used to believe that CS3 was mostly for programmers, until Cheesy proved otherwise :/
