I myself couldn't care ether way, I wouldn't tell them about santa claus simply because I won't have to deal with the potential bitch fest that could cause if they found out other wise. Though I never believed in him myself so I don't know the what the oncoming reaction would be, perhaps they would find out one day and be fine with that or perhaps they will blow a freaking gasket. Ether way I say no just to save us time and effort, however I also want to say yes because you're only a child once and you should be allowed to enjoy it optimally even if it means believing in someone who doesn't exist.

I am Jewish, and when my parents told me Santa wasn't real, I told that to all the kids at my school. They yelled "LIES, LIES!" and threw stuff at me. I'm guessing most of them went home and asked their parents because the next day at school, no one talked shit to me and called me a quote; "poopy-head,"
so maybe it is for the best to just tell kids that parents by gifts for children.

for now, you have earned the title "poopy-head" in my eyes.

and yes, tell them santa exists. Telling children to "be good and not get coal" would, to a child, mean the world. I remember shining shoes and doing shit like that when i was little, hoping that santa would notice. I mean, lying to the children would be bad, but it's insignificant. It's part of the christmas experience, so just keep it alive.

I think we should tell children santa clause does exist because otherwise we are robbing them of their imagination and whatnot. I wasn't disappointed when I found out he wasn't real, if anything I was happier because it gave me a reason to look for presents. :)
