Oh? You see no way that this bad? Okay... Well, tell me do you have money? Probably, which is why you think this is good. It is bad because they're dumb enough to force people that DON'T have health care to now buy the government's health care. Meaning that even if you're dirt poor, you are forced to buy health care. Just so the government can put the inhabitants of America in debt while it fattens their wallets. So unless you already have health insurance from before the reform, you better hope that once the bill takes affect that you have enough money to afford the new, more expensive insurance. And if you still can't see how any of this is bad, then, God you're dumb.

All I have to say is, what president in recent memory hasn't screwed America? All conspiracies aside, It's us who elects them, I believe it's America screwing America. Perfect example, Bushes second stay in office.
Really America really?
I'd love to assume the general public in my country isn't that stupid, however it's become painfully clear that we are pretty much completely ignorant and or retarded, yes that includes myself. The sad truth is, we can't seem to decide on someone who is out for everyone's well being, someone who can greatly benefit the country. I know that's a lot to ask though.
It's not them screwing America, it's the people screwing America, we decide, we create and lastly we are not infallible.

WE don't decide. The f***ing politicians decide. We just cast our vote, then hope that the political leaders of our state vote the same way. So WE are powerless when it comes to the voting. If suddenly one of our political figures goes, 'Hey look, I want this guy to win, so I don't give a damn about what the public is saying, so I'll vote for him!' he can do that. So yes, technically, we do NOT choose who is president, we just give our OPINION on who the president should be. Everyone knows this.

Yeah but we decide, who those leaders are don't we? If we chose who they are then I think it's unfair to be upset with the decisions they make.

edit; Also take note I'm not saying you're wrong I just want some justification before people start waving their dicks around.

We do decide who our president will be, it's called voting. Our politicians vote only counts as one vote, just as a normal persons vote counts as one vote. For example, the state Indiana has been Republican over the past years until when the votes went in, and most of the votes were for Obama. Yet they have the same politicians that voted for a Republican. But I do see your point, that we only can vote for certain people.

Actually, we don't even choose those anymore. The state politicians vote for them as well. Now that they ALWAYS have at least a few politicians in office, the politicians vote them in. We, once again, give our opinion.

now where's my debate section mod powers so I can bin this piece of trash?

I'm tempted, but conflict like this is what the debate section's about. If it looks like he's getting overly trolly then yeah, it'll go, but while he's attempting to give logical arguments - ie. the poor can't afford to pay the extra - he's within the rules. He's wrong, but within the rules.

The new insurance is cheaper. The new insurance is cross-subsidised. The new insurance allows people who couldn't get insurance before to get insurance.

Everyone in the world should have access to healthcare as and when they need it - it's a basic human right. In America this means getting insurance. It's a stupid system, yes. You guys really need to nationalise your healthcare system; you are the only developed country in the world without universal care and it means that when, not if, people get sick they have to pay through the roof, ie. more than what this insurance will cost them. The new bill isn't perfect but it at least makes you slightly less third world.

Wow, anti-American much? Dude, I'm not even going to start on how much is wrong with that. True, we have no universal healthcare system, because truth be told I don't know why. But even so, should you even be part of this if you're not from America? I mean, you'll never actually know what it's like to live under the crappy rule of Obama. So, why does this even matter to you? Anyways, even if it IS cheaper, the people with no money are screwed. Like myself. So don't try that.

If you thought that was anti-American you should have seen what I was like when I arrived. I can take part in this debate because first hand experience is not knowledge in itself and actually adds nothing to the reasoning or arguments. The only difference would be if I hadn't been paying attention to what you guys were doing because it affected me less, but since I have I can talk. I couldn't give an example of how much worse my life is now, but I can point out how many other peoples lives are better. Now then:

Anyways, even if it IS cheaper, the people with no money are screwed. Like myself. So don't try that.

That only goes to show that you're screwed one way or the other. This way you're less screwed. At some point you will have to pay for healthcare. Everyone does. Whether you have plenty of money or not, the fact is you are going to have to pay. This way you pay less. Therefore you have been benefited.

I'm actually not very wealthy myself.

Would you rather one day have a heart attack and not be given the medical care you need.
There's no way you could afford a pacemaker if you needed one.
And what if you break a finger, arm, or leg, and need pins, screws, or plates.
You're gunna be in a 40,000+ dollar debt.

Would you rather pay 100-500 a month for it?
I'm not sure about rates as I haven't been able to afford health insurance,

Not being from America actually adds something to this healthcare shit. Germany has had this governmental health insurance for a long ass time, it was the first country to ever introduce it. And guess what? It works. It's not ripping anybody off and everybody can be sure to get healthcare when they need it. I also don't see how this can at all be a bad thing for the citizens of a country.
