The poses are great, and you can tell who's turn it is. But, please, please. Do not insult chess; Make real pieces.

You can't tell which piece is which if they're all the same flat thing.

I can't wait to see it animated though. Reminds me of that Pixar short of the old man playing chess against himself.

Thanks !
Im happy you like them :) and these are not really chess, its some kind of old antient game that no one really knows, just me, are you okay with that ?

Im not a modeler, Im a animator, I dont want to be too much distracted by the modeling, cause its not really important for me, now :D I hope you wont mind it like it is =)

The guy on the right looks perfect but the blank stare on the guy on the left looks a little bit off

Sexy as. Although Tawnik, I think you should render it instead of doing that quick thing. Especially when it is just a single frame. Make sure you get all the lights and shit set up. Also, did you move around their facial features? Would show better emotion.

I'm having trouble using rigs. Do you have any tutorials for using rigs in 3dsm and maya?

PS: Joined 11secondclub, sounds awsome.

Well you just have to get used to it Cronos, theres no actual tutorial about it (or I havent used any) well, there is ! Try to find your rig on youtube, for example I'd type "Norman rig overview" there should be people showing how they use that, basically you should see some curves around your rig, just clickem them and then rotate them and some can be moved, there are 2 ways how to move hands and arms, IK and FK, one controls just the foot (if talking about legs), you're given a box around a foot (usually) and you're supposed to move it around and the knee will automatically get to some position and theres also some tiny controler near by, for the knee, it "looks" at the controler, so if you move the controler the knee should rotate, its hard to explain for me, as an not native english speaker, but just watch some tutorials about FK and IK animations, rig overviews and you'll get there.

Facials, I dont want them to be the same for the entire animation, I want basic shape of the head right now, I will do them at the end of the process, I just dont want to be bothered by it right now =)
Rendering, this is a render, I just dont feel like adding this stuff because of one frame, its just a quick "sketch" that I wanted people to comment and give me some tips, I dont want the "details" to be losen in the shadows etc, altough, I think I added some area light, or not ? idk now :D

Thanks for the comment ;)

Not to insult or anything, but it looks like the guy on the right is staring at the guy on the left's cajones.
Other than that if you tell yourself that that's not what's going on, it's great so far. :)

What is a "cajone" ? :) And you'd definitely see that hes looking at the chess board, if the camera wasnt rotated away from his eyes..

K, Ima just say what I think is happening:

Guy on the left is thinking on what he should do, trying to think on how he would win the game.

Guy on the right, he seems to be having two, maybe even three, emotions at the same time ! It makes it look as if he has no emotion at all. Maybe move the eyebrows a bit, change the lip structure (smiling, sad, bored, w/e) :3

Its rly nice, can't wait to see it ompletely finished (especially the guy on left (:)

Rabstar, I said that theres no facial animation =D

Blocking pass, means that there are just poses, no inbetween animation, thats why it looks like its lagging
