I kind of thought they would be a problem, just knowing how idiotic Facebook groups can be. There are some very useless groups being made right now by people I've never heard of.

I propose there should be a steep requirement before anyone can make a group -- something like 500 posts. Honestly there's no reason anyone should make a group before being that active with the community, and I can't see any productive groups coming from someone with less than that.

Thoughts?

I think it should be something like 1000 posts.
You should at least have had to have been active for a year or somethin to be able to make a group.

I can't believe that I uttered the exact same sentence earlier today. "Okay, groups already suck". Requirements would be good but I'm going along with ghostly a little more, it couldn't hurt to make them pretty harsh. We don't need mattiswin or stickkillah2932 creating groups, neither do we need all of the Pivoteers that have 800 posts in the pivot section to create a group for every single member in there.

Agreed. If they're going to be open at all (which I still say will be more confusing than useful) then we need some requirements. I'm thinking only have mods or admins able to create them so that when someone wants one they have to ask, but I'm just power-hungry.

I'm either for a pretty high post requirement or the mod approval thing. Both would work I guess.

Yeah, the mods probably would have to look at the group title, check out the user who made the group and then see if his posts are worthy enough for him to make the group. I'd go with the high post requirement.

I think that approval should be the only issue. When creating a group whoever creates it should tell a mod or NTF what the purpose of the group is and ahve them approve of it before they can create the group.

Also, delete groups which aren't active in posts or something a week after they're made.

Well the high post count thing is iffy aswell imho, since senior members can make shitty groups too.

True that. Maybe giving the approval thing to both Mods and NTF? I'm pretty sure the NTF guys can judge about this shit just as well.

Well I agree but I hope if this can be arranged.
