Do you think they should ban certain video games for people under the age of 18?

View Profile They shouldn't make video games for over 18 because the parents could easily make the decision and eventually people would find a way to sneak certain games into their own hands
2D said it perfectly
"Nyah, let's not make murder illegal, cause they're gonna do it anyways."

View Profile They have for a reason, parents are just not following them. If parents want to let their child play Grand Theft Auto, I do think it's their choice and they should be able to, so it SHOULD be legal even though ratings should be there regardless to give parents an idea on how bad the games are. I know most of you are thinking "oh my god nooo, they shouldn't let 12 year olds play cod" or something like that, but how many of you were playing Halo or some other shooter as a kid? It didn't impact me negatively or make me annoying playing rated M games, it's douchy shit like MTV is where I think the source of this crap is coming from with kids thinking they're hardcore gangster trying to be like Dr Dre or some shit.
TLDR: Games aren't bad, music like rap is bad.

View Profile reliance on government to tell us what we should do is a form of conditioning that causes us to lose our sense of responsibility. How fucking busy of a person are you that you can't even check up on your child once in while to make sure he/she isn't messing with something you wouldn't them to, and then you have mothers who find this shit out and complain "why aren't there any laws about this?" maybe fed legislatures thought you could change your own shitty diapers for a change.
and the thing with video game violence being the origins of aggressive behavior in children: c'mon. Violent video games show children how to do terrible things, it doesn't directly tell them to do it. Again, it's just people trying to find a scapegoat

View Profile Video Games have no correlation to increased violence in those who play them.
The reason why I wouldn't want my kid playing Calla Dooty is because I believe in the natural progression of games. He probably won't have a console until he's 14 or he buys it himself, mostly because I don't want him to get addicted to gaming. By the time you're 17, you're probably not going to get morbidly addicted to a game because you're old enough to know what's healthy and what's not.

View Profile Eh, I've been playing video games since I was 3, and I turned out fine.
It's probably better to just teach your kids not to indulge in excess than it is to arbitrarily keep certain things away from them.

View Profile Well as long as hes not going around public roundhouse kicking people or tryn to slice them with a sword. i think video games are for entertainment not a "what to do in real life" example

View Profile Is it wrong that when you where 10 to role-play GTA with fake guns and sticks?

View Profile No, all children play around with sticks and Nerf guns. They don't really pose any particular danger, and I'd say they're a pretty good alternative to actual baseball bats and shotguns.

View Profile Alot of little kids have been getting games like grand theft auto, halo, Mw,CoD. So i ask you all, do you think its right for the government to take away those games until your the age of 18? I think its wrong but you know kids do crazy shit these days we dont want another story like the halo killer happening.
well they do not sell games like that to little kids because their parents has to say that its ok for them to play it and the parents have to pay for it
