With a question like this you pick out the reasons why it should never exist when we don't look at the whole picture, like the benefits of religion.

The benefits are able to be there without religion, the downfalls are not. Therefore the world would be a better place without religion. That's pretty much my argument against every post in this thread that claims religion is a good thing.

Religion is defined by something you believe in so, by definition, atheism is a religion. Evolutionism is a religion, just like Christianity or Judaeism. Basically, life without religion would be pointless. And plus, if no one believed that Jesus died on the cross for our sins, no one would go to heaven.

No. Religion is believing in something without evidence. Atheism is the absence of religion.

Atheism isn't a belief. Why is it that many are so keen on tagging it as such? Atheism is simply a disbelief in any supernatural being. Saying atheism is a religion is like saying not smoking is a habit.
What theories an individual may support is completely independent of it. You might actually find atheists who believe the world had no beginning and that it will have no end, or one that believes that the earth is a flat disc.
Evolution cant be treated as a religion simply because of the sheer amount of proof that supports it. The human tailbone is just one example among millions. The other thing about evolution that removes it from the tag of a religion is that no worship is required, and anyone that can come up with a better, more feasible theory and is also able to prove it is welcomed with open arms(in most cases).

I think that's a rather holistic view of the subject.

Speaking in technical terms I don't think religion is good or bad for the world...
The reason why many of the world's problems seem to be caused by religion is because religious people make up the majority of the world...

If religion didn't exist I'd believe there would be just about just as much chaos just now people don't have an excuse to hide behind...

Humans will lie, cheat, and steal regardless of whether they believe in one or multiple gods due to imperfection...
As a Christian I am not going to lie, the belief of being watched over by God does not always effect every decision I make in life...

Whenever I lie about something I don't always think about God...
Whenever I volunteer for a hospital I don't always think about God...

As much as many people would like you to believe it even for many people who claim religion not every decision is made by a belief in a god watching over them...

Saying there would be no hatred and fighting in the world without religion is like saying there would be no racism without white people...

I think human nature is human nature regardless of religion or atheism...
There will always be hate towards someone different from another...
There will always be love towards diversity...

The human nature is one that is both flawed and at the same time intelligent...

This is my opinion and not at all a debate...

Here's how it lays out in moral terms:
Principles of religion- good
Religious people- bad (sometimes)

The problems with religion don't concern the religion itself for the majority of the time. It's the religious people who cause debates, wars, and such.
So does that mean Religion is a good thing? I believe so. It's people who point out the flaws in it and call out for it to be bad. And if you don't believe in such things, well, that's your own thing. People who are religious should keep it to themselves. Those who are non-religious should respect religion and not try their hardest to shit all over it.

If you want people to come to your religion, don't be flinging it into their faces. Represent your religion in a positive manner and some people will just try it out for the heck of it. If they like it, WALAH! If they don't, don't be all like, "You're going to hell blah blah blah God smite you blah blah." It's their decision. Respect that.

I don't think the world would be better off without religion. Without religion, what will become of the ancient Egyptians, who will they believe in? What about the Vikings? The Persians? The Greeks? The Mayans? A world without religion is like, a question without an answer, a book without words, or a map without any pictures. How would they understand the world if there isn't an explanation? They didn't start off with science in the beginning, science was born after years of religion when people start studying the stars and stuff.

In other words, if people can accept those with religion without a spark of hatred, the world would be a bit better. They start religious wars because of their stubbornness and ignorance, like I said, if only they accept them for who they are instead of discriminating them just by what they believe in. I'm Catholic, but you don't see me starting feuds with those with different religions cuz I accept them to be who they are and what they believe in. If they want to believe in Hindu gods, then let them be! Don't hate them! That's how fights and wars start. Religion can be a good thing, so people can get a better understanding on the world. Without religion, then how will we understand all this stuff in the beginning without science to start with?

FACT: The world would be a better place if everyone follows Christian morals.

The reason you people find it hard to believe in this religion because of how literal you are taking the bible.
The Bible is interpreted through metaphors. If you read it with that in mind its actually very helpful and gives you great advice.

I became an Atheist just because of the bible.

It's full to the brim of murderous, flithy shit and I'd rather be illiterate than be forced to read that book.
