What if we had a thing where we asked the user some obscure question like, "When is Napoleon Bonaparte's birthday?" And told the user to google it? With a link provided and everything.

We used to have "spell 'dog' backwards". For the most part that was good enough.

on my old forum, our question listed some European countries + Africa (I think) and asked to type the one that isn't a European country. we never got any adbots after that (when before we were getting three a day before, which is why we were forced to implement a question)

But that one might harm my Americans-don't-know-geography racist stereotype!

Unless it actually did end up rejecting all the Americans, which would be admittedly hilarious but would probably count as a negative overall.

Honestly no idea. It's entirely possible that you've been added to the group but no one's remembered to give people permissions yet. You could try looking at a thread in each section and seeing if you have the power to edit posts there in the same way as you could edit your own.

Also interesting, the word "moderator" is not allowed in user titles so it's been censored out of yours. Did your usertitle go to Section Moderator automatically or did you do that bit?

I put it to Section Moderator myself but it got censored. that's why I put it to Section Mod.

and kk I will try the other sections. but in the section I applied for I can only give infractions for example. The RHG section. but I need to be able to lock and delete topics for administrating RHG.

Sorry about all those Spambot infractions, Index, but they'd all set their birthdays to today and I didn't want nine links to Quick Payday Loans at the bottom of the page. Infractions are quicker and easier than Mod CP bans.

Yeah so from the looks of it the only Moderator capability I have is to give people infractions. So I guess you can kinda just call us Sub-Mods?

Yeah, that's basically what you are. You can moderate your section of forum ;)

I went to the Literature section (the section I remember specifically requesting being in charge of when applying) and my powers are the same as every other section. Infractioning. But eh, it's whatever. It's not like I can be a completely dedicated mod, honestly.

Oh hey since I'm a moderator now maybe my word might count a little more. But I've noticed that the Literature section is still put down in the off-topic section. And it's made to look like a section where you just talk about books (just look at the description). I don't go here much anymore but I do know for a fact that some young guys with good potential for writing are on this site and would get more attention and critique in the Community Originals section where people already share their own music and/or games. I think putting literature in their would work just fine.

I know I've kinda been complaining about this for a while now but I really do believe it makes sense and would help out since I have a good respect for those who try to expand their horizons of imagination. And since this forum is all about creativity it would make sense that this idea is supported.

What would you suggest in expanding the section then? Or from a writers stand point, what would be a more enticing description to include more than just books?
