Oh its Spitfire again... I got him unbanned ages ago for his multi-accounting fiasco. He has 2 choices: Accept this new account and Force-Ban his old one or have stone (more likely) or Jeff reset Spitfire and cease using TopHat ever again. You should probably PM them in case they don't see this.

If they do then yeah.

He requested to have his old one force-banned. No global mod or admin's online at the moment, so if you see this, please ban Loki.

We used to have an automated system for multi-accounting, whenever two accounts logged in with the same IP address it would automatically create a new thread for it, similar to the report system. It wasn't really against the rules and most of the alerts were for people no one knew or cared about, but whenever we recognized a name we'd ask for an explanation.

I actually remember having to do that for Loki (idk why I remember something like that) so that's the only reason he contacted you, he probably thought we'd notice it right away and ban him before he could explain himself. As long as he can't even access his old account there's no real reason to ban it.

Was that pre-merge? Because I think that would be Loki's IRL brother who had the same username. I can't show you the post where I got the present-Loki unbanned because it's in my now-erased Hewitt account but it happened when I just became a mod. Regardless, you're right. If he can't access it then there's no point in banning it. Let him use TopHat freely.

Guys, this is getting to be a serious problem and I keep noticing it despite constant assurances from you that you're all treating every member fairly and equally. Specifically, when an older member comes on, no one seems to hold them to the rules. Why? I honestly don't give a shit if you think they deserve some leeway, this isn't the same stickpage they were used to and they need to get used to that. Issuing infractions is a good way to let them know. You've all insisted before that infractions are just warnings, so why is it a big deal for you to issue them to older members? Specifically, General Douchington came back (stone banned him during the merge), and not a single fucking one of you did anything against his posts, or the fact that he's circumventing a ban. Even if you can't or didn't want to ban him, no one came here to let us know. Whether or not this is intentional, it has to stop. If you're afraid they will respond viciously to an infraction, just issue another or let me know and I'll just ban them. You shouldn't be afraid to enforce the rules. What the fuck are they going to do?

Hey, can I bin that 2-D Discussion thread? I think everything that needs to be said has been said, and it seems like it's about to go on a steady downhill drop to spam-central.

I got you, dude. The only person I really gave leeway to is Scarecrow because he's the shit and he's helped the forum out a great deal back in the day. In my opinion it would be like infracting Exilement if he wasn't a moderator already. You are right though. It is favoritism and I doubt anyone is going to get themselves banned.

Let the record show that if I was aware that douchington was evading a ban, I would have dropped the hammer. I hate that guy, he's a douche.

I was in the process of banning him, but our work computer's been freezing up lately and it locked up right when my boss was pulling in, I had to restart it before I could ban hhe

I get that you're pissed about him tossing around the autistic card, but don't take it out on all of us. He evaded a ban and immediately started pulling the same shit as before, so yeah, he should get an IP ban. That's common sense

idk, I'm on my phone so maybe I missed something, this is the first thread I opened. Is this a systemic problem or something? That's how you described it at first, but you sound like you're reacting to GD specifically instead of addressing an ongoing problem. I can't tell.

I'm not really pissed about what he said, more that 5 mods clearly visited his profile and saw he was a previously banned member and did nothing about it. If you were going to, then that's a different story, but sort of irrelevant to the overall issue, though it would exclude you from worrying about whether or not you're part of the problem. I'm not reacting to GD specifically, just using him as an example of what's been bugging me about the way mods act. I've brought this up with you specifically before IIRC and you swore you weren't doing that, which I believe, but I still see what seems like favoritism or intentionally ignoring broken rules. This is why I tried not to out and out blame anyone or state it as a fact - this is just what I've observed. There have been a few instances in the past, the specific details of which elude me right now, where this kind of stuff happens and it's difficult to not see it as a mod intentionally ignoring a clear infraction. GD was only the latest which made me bring it up, because I saw the account, opened his profile and the last few posts from him were clarifying who he was TO a mod who didn't do anything about it.

I guess you just sounded pissed off at all of us in your first post, and the way you described it as a serious problem that has to stop made it sound like we're all guilty of playing favorites on a regular basis. then I got stuck wondering why you're just now saying something about it.

It makes more sense now that I know you were avoiding naming names. Just try to keep in mind that it's most likely unintentional, so we need to know when it happens, otherwise we can't really do anything to keep it from happening again. Intentionally letting people break the rules is definitely a serious problem, but a few isolated instances could be a simple lapse in judgment or a different interpretation of the rules, and telling us to knock it off isn't going to change anything if we don't even realize it's happening.

At least nothing like this will happen again any time soon. Hopefully.

I didn't really know who douchington was until I linked you that thread, Jeff. But I had just linked it without a second thought and had just gone to bed after that. By the time I pieced it together I kicked myself for not realizing it sooner. I dunno what I was thinking, I clicked the profile and thought that since he had no similar IP he was in the clear. It was a lousy day but that's my story. I even reported it for discussion purposes and at that point I was still on the fence. I too admit I am at fault for being sloppy and I'll watch out next time.

Looks like Naimad has his own thoughts of improving Stickpage's issues. It's sort of ironic when you may be a factor of those issues, though.

I can't believe it. Someone who's actually more annoying than Molgera and Grimm. It's like the final boss of noobs.
