I actually just use the Spam-o-matic tool, I've been wondering why no one else uses it especially Azure who reports them here which seems tedious after i brought it back. You guys should be able to use the spam-o-matic on any post in or outside of your section. If it's not working I'll look into it since it's a really useful tool that does a lot at once.

Also resources isn't supposed to be for showing off that's why it's not in there.

Edit: _Ai_ does stick empires have a separate IRC too? Also i will look in to adding another mod but I honestly don't think we need active players to be mods if I'm honest

Nah, we can't use the spam o matic outside of our own sections yo, and I know it's not showing off, but it's the only mainly creative related forum that's in General, and I thought it might be better in Show off is all, even if it isn't meant for showing off. It doesn't fit the theme of General Discussion very much either does it?

Well the SE has an irc too, but they're clan specific and they're not on galador/adelais. We don't have a general SE irc, and although there's always the in-game se chat that's pretty much cancer.

It's true that an active player playing SE might not be needed but sometimes there are reports that I can't attend to because the going-ins in the game. A perspective from an active player should do nicely there.

If you guys really think it's unnecessary I think I can manage somehow, I guess.

ok that's fine i just didn't want to have an irc we aren't running being promoted as official.

The only issue I have is that I can't think of an instance where player experience would affect a mods ability to moderate a discussion forum. I don't think in-game issues are a forum mod's jurisdiction. I'd be more inclined if I could see some real world examples of things you feel would be better handled by a mod with active experience.

I'm essentially half a global mod already

btw I've been deleting spam threads permanently, not softly. When I'm using my phone I use the spam-o-matic in case I might screw up, but I've been taking care of a lot of bots around the sections.

I just noticed the issue with pineapplez. And I think that some of yoy handled the situation in the worst manner.

Yes, he was being a douchebag.

Yes, he made the mistake to post his complain in public.

But make him look like an idiot for giving out his opinion wasn't the right call IMO. I read all his posts and quotes and I kinda understand why is the guy so angry. The one thing that Ai did wrong was when he was manipulating the infraction points (giving more or less than the necessary), and that at some point you started to reply to him rudely showing no intention to help the situation. Like saying that the mod team as a whole would find his complain stupid and not worth checking on.

Imo we must try to handle each situation professionally and don't let our feelings towards some members interfer in our decision.

Did you ever tell him that he could complain to US if he wasn't agreed with the infraction?.

Edit: and yeah I know that jeff infracted him for harassment. But I still think that we could've handled the situation bettery discussing it here and then state a general opinion.

Ai should not be doing that, and I hope from this point on he doesn't because it could become a conflict of interest, but it's nothing I would immediately demod him over. Literally my only feelings about it are to ask Ai to please stop doing that and treat infractions equally even if it's your friend being a shitty member. I also recognize Ai is human and I know how hard it is to be both a friend and a mod, it's hard to do both. If you're at a point where you cannot infract someone for personal reasons, there's no shame in coming here and admitting it, this would let someone else at least take over. But yeah, don't shield your friends or stretch the truth in order to get someone banned and there wont be any problems. All the other "evidence" he had was in regards to a private IRC channel we aren't officially associated with, so who gives a shit? I kick people all the time from private channels as a joke, but that's because I can separate my professional duties with SP from my leisure time and not let them affect each other.

This post is based on my thoughts when I read the thread last night (when it had 3 pages). I'm going to look into it again to give an official response, so I may update this post.

Ya, I agree the dude overreacted and looked for a reason to call you out on things that were not true. But he was right about you not handling the infractions fairly.

So next time. If you fel like you won't give a fair decision let us know about it. And don't speak for the mod team as a whole again, and if you want to state yoyr opinion make sure that the people reading it knows that it represents your opinion.

Other than that is fine, we all make mistakes, just make sure it doesn't happen again.

And to Drone, instead of making all those posts you could've been more helpful to the situation by trying to actually understand the situation and put some things in order. Even tho is not your section, if you're gonna get involved, make sure that is to actually help solve the issue, rather than to post only for lulz and giggles.

Wait, I just noticed that Drone banned him. Wtf dude, even if it was against the rules, banning people for things outside your section as a sectional mod isn't cool.

Oh what. I thought he got banned for infraction overload?.

Edit: oh. Drone man, you can't give him 5 legit points for complaining just to force a ban. :I

Screw it. I reversed it and lifted his ban, that crap wasn't fair dude. You banned him for a whole week (the 5 points you gave him made him reach 10).

What the actual hell. A complaining infraction is worth 2 points. Aside from not helping the problem at all, you made it worse.

Well, crap. Yeah man Jeff even said he would deal with it if Pineapple kept threatening Ai and everything. That wasn't for us to infract :(

Sorry that I've been inactive these past few days. I'm going through a busy time. There'll be a few days here and there between now and the beginning of May where I'll have periods of inactivity, but after that I should be online a lot more often.

It shouldn't be too detrimental, but just thought I'd let you guys know.
