Sponge, you've utterly failed at predicting the path of this film.
I didn't predict the path, though. All I did was state that this video is just showing salt shaker having some existential "there is no owner and therefore no reason for life" stuff.
Also, if this video isn't supposed to show salt shaker questioning either his owner (obviously god) exists and/or whether or not his life has a meaning (he actually says that if the owner doesn't exist then there is no reason for anything to exist) then you've failed horribly at conveying the message to the viewer.
Assuming the video has a meaning beyond "salt shaker can talk! Salt shaker Jump off counter!"
Now I will predict part two:
owner picks salt shaker off floor. Owner makes dinner, owner uses salt shaker to put salt on it. Owner violently molests pepper while salt screams.
All of this "metaphor" and "meaning" and "philosophy" everyone is in a tizzy about is just to troll us when the videos are really just about a salt shaker and his friend getting molested.
EDIT: The video also says that Pepper had never been self-aware before. How would she have any idea of this owner guy? How would she feel him shaking her over his food? The only explanation here is that she's making things up to explain the unknown (aka the same reason religion was made up) or she's just fucking with salt.
Also, she points out that she can't see the owner because they don't have eyes, but she points out that salt has a dent. Salt never communicated this to her prior in the video and she hasn't been self-aware until then so there is no way for her to know of his dent.
