Oh yeah, sorry, I meant Akira. I suppose that sentence was tangential.

Anyways, I critically analyze just about anything I watch. But my standards "what index would call, filthy casual" all stem from whether I'm entertained or not and I try to keep it simple. I like to approach each show with a clean slate and open mind. And I try to understand the perspective of the target audience. This gives me a wider range of enjoyment. I found myself watching the first season of One Piece shouting "FUCK YEAH, FUCKING RORONOA MOTHER FUCKING ZORO". Because I didn't go into it expecting it to be as good as Akira.
Some people think Trigun is a bad anime, but if you go into it realizing that its budget was minuscule it's absolutely amazing. You can see where the animator had to cut corners and use cheap tricks, but when it counted the quality was there. It was a product of real passion and it's no wonder why it's such a well known anime. Especially that intro, fuck yeah.

Anyways, this helps ensure that I know I dislike anime that are only genuinely bad, like shuffle. Some times I just have to acquiesce that an anime or genre isn't my style. Like most harem anime for example.

Oh, when we were mentioning guilty pleasures way back when I should have mentioned shuffle, that's a good one
although in my defense, I was going through a really weird phase

It doesn't HAVE to be an argument, man. Why argue about something that's totally opinion?

Because we're having a discussion and we disagree on a point. Because discussing point with someone the disagrees with you, rips your argument apart, makes you see something in a different light is sometimes fun. Just because I consider something to be an argument doesn't mean I'm out for blood, it's just a debate.

The whole wild goose chase was to show you that you'll just argue about anything that doesn't line up with your opinion.

Yeah, because we had a discussion like that before, and it was great, but for some reason now we're at each others throats. Should I just not try to have the type of conversation with you? You don't seem to want it, and I think it would avoid some frustration. Is that what you would prefer?

I don't see subjective bickering back and fourth as a debate. You may derive enjoyment from it, but I don't. People can discuss and have different opinions without it becoming about what is right or wrong. Especially considering entertainment subjects like this rarely have a clear right or wrong. We can exchange opinions and perspectives without "arguing" about it and it can still be enjoyable.

You think it's great, but I just end up leaving with nothing more to say. Because "No you're wrong because this is my definition" gets really old really fast, bro. And it really sucks balls because I want to talk about anime and manga. But instead I rarely post because I don't like being immediately contradicted and challenged in my opinion when it's a matter of preference and especially when it's a casual comment. And who does, who likes that? Certainly not you, look at how riled you got over it.

So yes you could say I don't want you to treat me like that anymore, probably because it makes me feel like shit.

Cool, post to you're heart content and I won't challenge your opinions.

Sorry for hounding you for an argument that you never wanted to take part in. That was my misunderstanding.

You've created a false dichotomy here. You're jumping straight to the extreme because you're passive aggressive and don't know how to handle what I said.

I'm not saying "don't challenge my opinions". I'm saying don't attack me and bicker with me the second I post about a topic, that's the type of thing you should do to people with dense opinions that don't make sense. Not people you're trying to be friends with.
My point is there's better ways to conduct your business.

I can't tell if we've argued and I've shown you things in a different light and you've found it enjoyable...or if you're freezing up...

I...I really like you...Jelly san...please don't be angry with me.

That's a fair point, so I'll pay that. But I still don't see why a alternate universe is so much more original than a game universe. You have endless possibilities with both don't you?

Not when you start introducing RPG elements.

I don't mind. But does this mean that you hated Claymore?[/QUOTE]

I never personally felt that HxH was a shounen manga. I saw elements that were there, but I thought that it was much too violent to actually be shounen, and the plot is not that 1-dimensional.

I was going to make a comment about how it's okay for people to like shounen, because their top three list of anime titles don't all have to contain the phrase "monogatari". But I deleted it feeling like it was too much maybe.

I loved Monogatari :c

I'm about to finish Black Butler and need a new anime to watch.
The two recommended to me most are Kill La Kill and Eureka 7. Thoughts on which one I should watch?
