You're right Raptor. I still haven't watched the original FMA but from what I hear it follows the manga for around 18 eps and then starts deviating, Brotherhood completely retells the manga. Apparently FMA feels a bit more mature and seinen but has a slightly dodgy ending while Brotherhood is a bit more shounen has an amazing ending and slightly newer animation. If you plan to watch both, I hear you should go FMA and then Brotherhood (apparently it's harder going the other way), but if you only have time to one I'd stick with Brotherhood.
I thought you'd already seen it? Didn't we have a conversation on why it was the best shounen of all time?

@Metal - I was just having fun/teasing, next time I'll be sure to litter my post with "lols" to avoid any misunderstandings.

What do you mean the sequel of the manga? I thought Brotherhood retold the manga.

You are right, but, as Youwishjellyfish said, until the 18th episodefrom the season "1" the story follow the manga and then in middle of the anime they changed the story, a friend told me that it's so good (or even better) than the manga. If you want to watch just one of them, i recommend Brotherhood, because the animation is better, if you want to watch both, i recommend watching the "first" season before brotherhood.

I'm not sure if that was me, and if we did, I was referencing the manga. I've read the manga several times.

I just started watching Fullmetal Alchemist.
I noticed that it uses the first book of the manga in the third episode of the anime.

Overall, I really like it. So far I'm in episode 8.

Just finished Flame of Recca. It was really good, imo. It did have some unrealistic stuff that kinda pulled me away, but still, overall I just loved the feel of it.

maybe my memories are misleading, but remembering it now it seems like it's just an ordinary shounen.
i'm gonna re-watch it now. NOSTALGIA TRAIN.

I read it over watching it. Probably a huge difference in the experience.

El Psy Yandere? and Suspension of Disbelief
Mirai Nikki (Future Diary) and Little Busters!
Now Open for Rating and Discussion

As always, if you are so inclined, rate and discuss the above titles. If you've seen any of the previous titles (Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Summer Wars, 11eyes, Another, Cowboy Bebop, Zetsuen no Tempest, Jin-Roh, TWGOK, or Yumekui Merry) and haven't done a rating yet, it would be much appreciated if you threw a number or two my way.

s-CRY-ed is going to be taken out of the list, kinda. You will still be given the chance to rate and discuss it of course, but it will be given a spot in between two titles as it isn't officially on the list anymore (eg, #8, #9, #9.5, #10, #11). It will also be on my list but won't be getting a review.
I am replacing s-CRY-ed with .hack//sign.

Current Scores:
Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei - 10 -
Summer Wars - 7.5 -
11eyes - 7.5 -
Another - 8 -
Cowboy Bebop - NA -
Zetsuen no Tempest - 8.5 - 8.5
Jin-Roh - NA -
The World God Only Knows - 9.5 - 9 -
Yumekui Merry - 8.5 -
Mirai Nikki - 8 -
Little Busters! - NA -

Now watching .hack//sign and the Madoka Magica movies.

I'm gonna rewatch .hack//SIGN just so I can properly talk about it like the obsessed fan I am. Because it was just that great a show.

Do I need to have any previous knowledge to understand it? Or is it fine as a stand alone series?

All of the animes are fine stand alone, though they do have a heavy amount of things that are easier to understand if you've got knowledge of the previous stuff. It's a pretty heavy laden example of how a company makes EVERYTHING connect.

Isn't the .hack series a prequel to the video games?

The animes, mangas, light novels and games all actually tie together to form a single storyline. Therefore, they can be both prequels and sequels in a way. You can't get the full story without looking into literally everything from the series.

*sigh* I don't like light novels.
