I caught up to where I left Pokemon Adventures: Diamond and Pearl.

I prefer to just skip this arc because I remember hating it.

When do you think Hunter x Hunter is going to end? Any time soon?

I say this because I think I prefer watching anime that is already completed -- that way I don't have to bother with a broken up story in my head and wait week after week.

Just watched ep. 1 of Tokyo Ghoul Root A. Seems like they're going to go through a different plot line, so I guess there's less to complain about.

Yeah, they're doing a fma, except not as good
hopefully this new plotline redeems the first half, cus my main problem with that was how it was butchering the timeline and screwing around with when and how things happened
oh and the censorship

Good episode, but I hated the opening. I preferred the first season's opening.

Btw if you guys are looking for more manga recommendations, you guys may have to wait a while since I'll be busy. I have 16 titles I need to write up on and more if finish any in between.

And there we have it, every opinion Raptor ever had, has, or will have has now been made redundant.

Oh I didn't know edge of tomorrow was originally a japanese work,
also I haven't seen edge of tomorrow
and yeah I kinda agree that if Scarlett Johansson is meant to play the major then I'd probably take some issue with that vecause that's an Asian role and it should stay that way, there are plenty of competent Asian actresses they could have gotten to play her instead. But I don't really think she will play the major, I'm just not sure how that would work out and they don't even look similar besides being voluptuous.
I think they're probably going to go the world war z route of completely changing the setting and story and keeping th e name, but if it turns out to be a good movie I won't care much

Watch Edge of Tomorrow when you get a chance it's a fairly good movie and a lot of fun. But yeah, originally it was a light novel I think, though I have no idea how much of it was changed lol.

I'm all up for ScarJo being an antagonist, but I read somewhere that she's apparently getting paid 10 million dollars for it, does that kind on money usually go to non-protagonist? I also expect that they'll change the setting and story around but I do hope they don't 'Americanize' it to much, I still want the movie to be somewhat intellectual or something that you need to be constantly thinking in to follow, kinda like on the level of Inception, not a mind fuck, but not a brainless popcorn action flick.

That said, because of ScarJo I'll be able to convince my friends to see it, so that's something.

I hear only good things about the recent hunter x hunter

That's because you haven't heard from me, but then again, I hate everything.

But in all seriousness it's a really fun show, the only problem it has is some major pacing issues starting around the end of the chimera ant arc that carry through the rest of the show. Oh as some over hyped and anticlimactic fights. But these are minor grumbles in what is otherwise a very solid show.

I don't get Tokyo Ghoul, it's like they're doing all this to piss me off on purpose. The ending of Root A's first episode was a perfect place to end the first season, but no, they made it the first, and then they give is a time skip in the second episode?! I literally can't even right now...

Has Studio Pierrot ever done a good original filler arc in Naruto? I'd argue that they haven't, so I see no reason why they'd be able to pull off a good new plot line.

I guess that means my expectations are lying around the group, so I guess all my surprises can only be good ones.

For my money, Free! Iwatobi Swim Club is the most well developed anime in existence

What are your opinions?

I'd say that's some pretty cheep bait you've got there.

That said I do think it's a pretty good show, though the first season heavily relies on it's inside joke that it's essentially a moe slice of life anime with the genders reversed. The second season is a step up from the first cutting away most of the angst and moving into a solid sports show with coming-of-age themes, giving it a lot more depth that it had in the first season. It also gets bonus points for doing an extremely accurate portrayal of a certain location.

By the way, how much anime are you watching at the moment?

I actually haven't seen the second season! Maybe I'll check it out, but in reality, probably not.

Well, I finished I can't understand my husband randomly, but I don't really count that. Other than that, pretty much just focusing on Log Horizon. I started Steins Gate but I decided to save that for a later date, probably marathoning it with some friends. I watched Free! a long time ago, but never watched the second season. Also watched 2 episodes of Fate: Stay Night and it piqued my interest, so I will be finishing that at a later date as well.

I'm on winter break, which is why I have so much time for this stuff. Once I get back to Uni, I doubt I'll watch more than like 2 episodes a week of anime.

That's a good point now that you mention it :/

Also the first episode of Aldnoah Zero is giving me an awful feeling of what's to expect. I don't want to say it, but if my hunch is correct, I don't think we'll get a very good season. Hopefully my gut feeling is wrong.

And at least we probably will get more of "Martian Politics" jellyfish lmao

Also I just realized that Shinmai Maou no Keiyakusha was among the winter season catalog. As a person coming from its manga...
drop it. burn it. delete it. nothing good will come from watching it. trust me.

EDIT2: Oh, I guess I should quickly watch episode ones and give my impressions...

For a second I thought you were marathoning whole shows with little to no breaks. But yeah, Steins;Gate is really good, though the few irl friends I've recommended it to dropped it pretty early... And yeah, when uni comes around I generally just stick to what's airing, but I'm a terrible student, so that still means I'll follow a truck load of shows lol.

I'd also say that a few of the fights were a major let down, but I never had any expectations...

Actually, the first episode made me considerably less salty about the ending of last season, but I'm still grumpy about the lazily written red herrings.

I also have a minor problem already:
ep one stuff (Click to Show)

Edit: There is an edit in the spoiler

This show possibly has the most cringy synopsis I've ever read.

I thought we always watched more than one episode, wasn't it around three?
