I respectfully disagree that Charlotte is feels. Or should be recommended just because of who made it. I found it pretty sloppy. It packed a weak punch when it delivered its tearjerk moments. I mean, if you have enough episodes to get the gang in a camping trip and a baseball game to goof around with unimportant characters, then you should make sure that the last episode isn't one big ball of rushed events where a good story concept ends up being just a montage. And I'm still kind of disappointed that the sneaky and conniving Yuu Otosaka from ep 1 is practically a different Yuu Otosaka in eps 2-13.

ironically i agree with you, but the Producer of Charlotte has talk much about how hard to make charlotte : http://yaraon-blog.com/archives/69989

Shimoneta is high school ecchi and the premise just reeks of prepubescent boners. Not sure about this one.

Well, this anime is categorized as Ecchi because of (dirty) jokes itself. That's why it's called "A Boring World Where the Concept of Dirty Jokes Doesn’t Exist" The Characters are hilarious, especially the story.

Gate sounds pretty interesting but the fact that the small group of Japan's military in charge of such an important task is lead by a freaking otaku soldier, although I can see how it's justifiable, is making me second think. It has a pretty good score on MAL though so I might just give it a go.

i found out there's 1 lewd episode anyway (just in case)

It's kind of hard to trust someone when you don't know who he is, and he doesn't know who you are :/ Like, can't you say anything else about it other than the fact that you liked it?

Actually my recommendations is based on their most liked genres, i don't use MAL Points as my main reference. I found out many animes that I liked has low score on MAL. (and of course that doesn't mean i always recommend my favourite animes)
You may try to watch 1 or 2 episodes to review.

Anyway, random feels & action genre recommendation (Fall 2014) :

Not to sound cynical, but the Smokin Parade intro tried too hard to be over-the-top crazy to the point where it honestly seemed unoriginal. The intro to Deadman Wonderland by contrast felt much more fresh, new, and interesting, both conceptually and in it's execution. Everything felt a bit more planned out and calculated, whereas Smokin Parade is more all over the place. Time will tell if the intro will pay off, but my initial impression isn't totally positive.

That being said, I love the author's art style, so I'll still approach with cautious optimism.

Oooooh baby

Deadman Wonderland manga wasn't bad. The anime butchered the manga completely, going as far as excluding key characters and replacing them with irrelevant ones.

Anyway, Manglobe Studio has officially closed yesterday due to bankruptcy reason
this is really disappointing, they've adapted some masterpiece animes such The World God Only Knows series and Gangsta

Oh wow, that's both really unexpected and incredibly unfortunate. Manglobe is usually not regarded as one of the top tier studios, (in that, when you think of who's the best or most consistently good and things of that nature they don't often spring to mind), but it's sad to see them go, they made some of the all time greats

I'd probably feel the same, but since I've been following it so far I'm probably just going to keep on watching it. Besides, the MC is going through an interesting development and I want to see where it ends.

Well at least it's good to know that Mikado is finally going places lol. I might as watch it after season 3 goes out or when it finally resolves, just for the sake of finishing.

MAL also rated One-Punch Man as Top 100 before it's even aired yet, and NGNL and a One Piece Movie are also in Top 100. They dangerously overhype stuff.

Haha yeah you're right, I might just wait it out and see how the score settles after a while. It just finished so people might just be rating 10 out of impulse. I'll watch something else in the meantime probably.

I understand 0% of the content there, but I've seen (by watching documentaries lol) how the production of anime is difficult. I've watched a few things that talk about the process. Still though, Jun Maeda seems to be someone with a good reputation so I was expecting the hype he generated to be enough to know that he can at least plan out his show sufficiently before production has even started.

Good to know I will be watching this without wearing dentures.

I believe there's a translated article from that source (or you can Google Translate it lol)

Let me translate it

[/hr]
In an interview of Charlotte's Producer Mitsuhito Tsuji, He said that the attractiveness of Charlotte is how the Superpower user interact with others, and also the development of the story is always at high tempo and tension, such original story full of fun, tears, music and comfortable environment.

The main purpose of P.A Works are making the Jun Maeda's scenario in a visual (anime) format as pure as possible.
The film director Yoshiyuki Asai emphasized every superpower character, so that each of them (superpower users) can leave the impression for the audience even in a fast tempo story, So there'd be no "Uhh.. What's the power that he had before?" question. To prevent that, they emphasize the drama and visual effects when the power are used.

But the most difficult part of making Charlotte is how to cut Jun Maeda's scenario into 13 eps. anime, his scenario is extremely long and it's too hard to condense it without removing the important part of the story

"Also, Jun Maeda's scenario meeting had done every weekend at Aniplex office, and it's too far from our headquater. Besides, there's another difficult problems, but i can't tell it right now lol." Said (laughing) Mitsuhito

Before he (Mitsuhito Tsuji) ends the interview, Mitsuhito want to give a message for the fans of Charlotte, which reads: "People like that can be changed".
