My RHG xero
went for a slightly different method of coloring, lighting/shading, and blending.

Why are all you "artists" trying to imitate Neon's random effects drawing style?

1. they're not random, pay closer attention and you'll see that it's important to get the aspect of reflections and blending that comes off the lighting.
2. Why the quotes around "Artists"? I'm going to take that as an insult until correctly explained.
3. no one can "Imitate" drane, it may look similar, but drane has a completely different style than me that's all his own.
I study his art to get the aspects, and I pick some things up, that is true, but I can never truly mimic him. ever.

If you're implying we're not artists, draw something better. Their styles may be similar, but he's got his own style. If people got pissy about this being too similar to each other, then we wouldn't have as many artists, restaurants, businesses, etc as we do today.

@Xero
So you used SAI this time I'm assuming?

Flash!? That's pretty impressive. Now I'm inspired to start pushing my limits as well! I'll probably experiment a lot in my monthly.

You can take "Artists" however you want,I don't care I know how I meant it.
The effect make the drawing look more appealing to the eye and makes it look more vibrant.
Since your doing what he does to his drawings, yes that is mimicking him.
More along the lines of inspiration but you never did it before you saw him do it to it's inspired by that.
Getting inspiration from his art is ok but you have to add your own touch.
Likewise you don't have to give a shit about my opinion, and you can't report me for giving it,so don't try turd.
And don't respond cause no matter what i think of this drawing it will always be good.
Remember that.

EDIT: If I put the word "boys" in quotation marks yall gonna think I'm saying yall not boys too?
I meant it as saying yall all have different styles. There is no need to dip into everyone else's style when yours was just fine.
Why fix something not broken? And why get offended by something yall didn't understand?
Im done with this anyway, guys,no need to stress over my opinion.

@cash as it's still not mimicing, drane does a whole lot of other crap that I have yet to grasp and improve on, those are art aspects, they've existed in art ever since the term was first used, it has also been used in alot of anime art not done by drane, there's no excuse for that, inspiration is a better term for it yes.
I know when and when not to use the report button, this is not one of those times, I have no reason to.
And as long as the pic looks good.

@McRhook About 15 different layers were used.
I had to alpha, add blend, blur, mix and match colors, adjust lighting, and so on to get it just right.
Even then I can see it could have gone better

But don't try to make YOUR style like HIS.
It defines you don't change it every sunrise dude.
Your can change your style and still make your art look good.
That's great but try to hone your style not Neon's,or anyone elses.
