Swearing in general to me isn't exactly soothing to the ear but I don't mind it. But if it comes down to insulting others, then I think its very inappropriate. I don't mind it if they are talking like "What the hell" or something like that. Plus its a little weird to hear children swear, I'm not saying they won't later, it just sounds weird from a 5 year old saying "FUCK"

words have power because people perceive them to have power. if every black person in the world stopped giving a fuck if people call them niggers, they'd be a much happier race

if children are raised to see so-called offensive words as just... ordinary words, eventually it would be much harder to offend people by berating them with rude language

If people were invincible, then assault would not be illegal either.

I'm fine with kids that can handle themselves with cuss words. But for those little gamer boys and assholes, I'm not fine. If they were to be swearing like little out-of-control fuckers in front of me, sure enough I'd go lecturing them and cussing them down.

that's a stupid comparison.

It is a fair comparison; emotions are not voluntary reactions, even the negative ones. When someone has bad things said to them and they feel bad, clearly they are suffering mentally from what has happened to them. Similarly, when someone gets assaulted, and they are in pain, it is also suffering of a kind as a result of what has happened to them.

Your claim that if no black people cared about racial slurs then they would be happier overall might be true, but that does not mean it has any relevance to the real world- people don't just decide to not have negative emotional reactions to things. It's also a bad solution; if you are going to make unrealistic suggestions why not just say people should stop calling each other bad things for bad reasons or just stop being assholes in general?

Swearing is an idea that people invented because they needed new ways to be mad. Quite frankly, I don't care who says what, so I could really give a damn if children swear.

stop saying those questions. Swearing doesnt have a meaning, it just categorizes things.

It doesn't matter in my opinion. As long as the way their using it is in a joking matter, or if its being used in a mature way. I think there's no need for cursing when your mad at someone. You can just grow the fuck up and talk to them in a civil manner.
