I don't mean to be confrontational or anything. You guys are certainly more lax than I am about rules, but that's because in the 13-14 years I've been on the internet I've realized that zero tolerance or the most part is the most effective method. I just used to care so much about this community, and ever since I took a leave of absence to work on Dojo I've notice a steep decline in the quality of this community, and that has been echoed by a LOT of people who are more than eager to get in to Dojo simply because it's not Stickpage. Maybe it's egotistical, but I can't help but feel like my absence has resulted in this, because I used to put in a lot of work to make sure things around here were a certain way despite the large amount of people it pissed off because they'd rather see it as it is now. I also don't mean to say that you're all crap, because you're not and you do an otherwise good job, I just feel like whenever I actually put in effort again every few weeks/months, I'm often met with what seems like a strange resistance from other mods/ex-mods.

Yeah like I said in my pm, and maybe if I didn't stress it enough, I really hope I didn't seem to be against you in my posts. I just felt a lot of tension in the situation and otherwise tried to deter it.

I think the situation was dealt with in the best way possible. I wasn't here to say anything about it as it went down, but even now, I don't think I would have if I could. You're good at what you do, Jeff, and I'm sorry if the forum's quality deteriorates in your absence. All we can do is try to keep it as high as we can, even if we're vilified for doing what we give up our own time to do. But, hey, I'm pretty unknown. (Yes, Hew, I know I got 9 votes; I literally had the least, and very few things actually said about me).

maybe I'm looking too far into things again, I'm pretty stressed and over worked from the dojo lmao I didn't mean to offend anyone if I did. kinda wish I worded things differently now but w/e

I think in the very least you should apologize to Hidro. Wasn't fair what happened to him and he already admits it wasn't his intention to call you out on your shit. Nobody is. Me, Exile, and Arch have our own ways with dealing with people. I always PM users when I sense an impending shitstorm. Grimm fucking ignored me when I told him not to provoke you and he got banned for it, for one. Arch and Exile are probably more direct, but I guess not as direct as your methods. Doesn't mean it is any less effective.
Anyways, maybe your absence has changed things but we can't be sure of that just because things haven't been as hectic as before. That and well, we don't exactly have that administrative eye so you can say we mods are just running around headless. We appreciate you coming here every once in awhile like when you told us off on those DragonCave sigs, so we know you still care, even if it is your job to. It sounds like you're really passionate about devving the Dojo so more power to you. Perhaps it's only because none of us know how it has always been on FA and stone or the community doesn't seem to be complaining about anything else.

Quote from Mecha-HewittI think in the very least you should apologize to Hidro. Wasn't fair what happened to him and he already admits it wasn't his intention to call you out on your shit.
Then maybe he should avoid saying things like "you're just bashing a child at this point" and then telling me what I should have done. I still don't see any other way I should have taken that, seems pretty clear to me. Besides this, he didn't admit it wasn't his intention, he admitted he attempted it. " I apologize for the attempt at villanaizing you." So he was doing exactly as I described before, don't pretend like he wasn't. I'm going to contact him to clarify things, but I don't regret my reaction at all, because he explicitly stated that's what he was trying to do. I don't care if he doesn't appreciate me bringing it up, because if he's going to act that way in the first place he can damn well expect a negative response.

This wasn't my point, my point was that without proper direction and examples, you guys have had to essentially rely on what I'm going to call crowd-modding for lack of a better term. You're basically forced to interpret the rules in your own way and this results in both a relax in the enforcement of certain rules and a lot of debate among each other, as you all have your own reasoning for certain things. I'm not questioning how effective you are at enforcing the rules when you determine a rule has been broken, just that the lack of moderator administration appears to be muddling the consistency I was trying to get when I first gathered everyone here. This is why I feel like instead of acknowledging how I intend a rule to be, you guys are used to debating among yourselves the appropriate interpretation so you do the same to me. Which I don't mind if it's in private, but as I've said before when you guys decide to challenge it publicly for some reason it's doesn't represent us as staff very well.

I'm basing my opinion off of an objective observation. There are frequent discussions in #dojo talking about the decline of this community and how they're excited to move on. This didn't happen before I decided to go on hiatus, during which time many of the rules I personally would have enforced on certain posts were relaxed or ignored entirely (under certain circumstances), and made way for a lot of low-quality, low-effort posts. The exact same posts are the ones people are complaining about and are looking forward to not having at Dojo. Now I'm going to be the first to admit that I could be wrong, it could just be a natural shift, but it's pretty hard to ignore the glaring quality problems this forum is facing as of late. However, as I've said before, the community is pretty much dictating this on it's own, so it seems Stickpage WANTS to be this way almost.

It's not really my job. I don't get paid to be here, and I'm not considered an employee. I do it because I practically grew up in this community and I hate seeing it turn to shit, but the first part of this quote is pretty much what I was saying so I'm glad we're kind of on the same page there.

Again, maybe you're not seeing it, but the community is complaining about the quality of SP, which is so important that I don't really see anything else that matters. Hyun and I are going to release the Dojo regardless, and our intention is far from competing with stickpage as I've said before. We're trying to appeal to a completely different set of people, and in fact I would MUCH prefer that SP people stay here because they are the same people that have been making this place stink lately. I just feel that if this place doesn't improve, whether it really is my hunch that my lack of presence is causing problems for the mods or that maybe just in general the site is naturally shifting this way, the people who contribute to this site positively are going to leave and then all that will be left is a bunch of annoying kids.

Okay, I understand now.

I believe those kinds of posts were brought up once in the BatChat, and it was as you say CrowdModded into a harmless uninfractible gesture that didn't seem to hurt anyone. I suppose this now means it really is considered Minor Spam. I had no idea such sentiments were being passed behind Dojo's walls though. I wish to aim to be more rigid about it in the future, though even you seem to agree that perhaps your absence as of late could be a cause. I'm not pointing fingers, just saying how things are right now.

Hakaikami9000 has been permabanned for...ugh....making an account called "Mecha-Hewitt is a fag" after I weekbanned him for insulting me as well as other minor offenses. I sincerely hope he was hacked or something but couldn't care less either way >_>
EDIT: Okay this is getting ridiculous. He's just making more now to piss me off more -_-
Please IP Ban this guy 75.179.145.34

What the fuck? ElectriusReturns suddenly came on and started mult-ing and trolling in a far worse and different manner than Hakaikami. I dont know if theyre the same guy with a proxy, but in the very least we should IP Ban him now: 72.184.142.237
To see what he did, hop on over to the trash bin and find all his deleted "harvie is an asshole" threads.

I don't want to drag anything up again but I just read this and felt the need to clarify that these things aren't being said "behind walls" as if they're talking behind your backs or something. I've seen the sentiment shared openly in #dojo (which is a public channel that shares most of it's users with stickpage), as well as in #stickpage.
Anyway, I actually came here to ask if anyone remembers why General Douchington was banned in the first place, because he's made a new account and has been posting but I can't remember exactly if he was banned because he asked or if he was banned for being a dick
EDIT: Never mind, just checked the post history. Talk about holding a childish grudge and not growing the fuck up.
I should also note that his account is one of the prime examples of you guys being too lenient. His account shows at least 4 mods and 1 global mod having viewed his profile, and no action was taken despite clear evidence who it was. This is why I start believing in 'favoritism', no one wants to be the person to re-issue the ban because of who it is for some reason.

I was gonna link this. It was in the Bat Lounge:
http://forums.stickpage.com/showthread.php?37981-Dont-know-about-you-guys
From what I understand, stone banned him on the spot for the reasons GD and you are saying. stone made GD an example of how NOT to be a member post-merge.
Also, noted on your statement. I didn't mean literally behind walls. I just worded it that way because sometimes I feel awkward when I enter the Dojo channel so I usually don't and call it "an entirely different world".

Quote from thisisnotanaccountHello,
I was banned months agao for double posting. When i made my second accouunt i got permanantly banned. I know i was stupid to make a second account but can you guys plz unban me? Im 0(zero)rderEmpire.
Thanx.
I have no idea what to do or think about this. Also, why do people seem to come to *me* about this? This is like, the fourth or fifth person who's asked me to lift a ban.

I got the same message from that user.

Thank you, Rosie. Now I don't feel quite so alone.
Aug 14, 2013 7:08 PM #1065462
Nah Azure, he came to me as well. I'm guessing he also shot PMs at if not all, most of the moderators about the same issue.
Unless he receved infractions before the one he mentioned, it seems fairly unreasonable to ban the guy over double-posting. There's no way to get banned just on that one offense.
