Walt Disney wipes the floor here.He is a boss at animating with flow and easing and is literally the god of animation,he's just too damn good!!!
Actually Walt was great at the theory, but as an animator he was never amazing. He knew his art skills wern't up to the par as others. The great thing is, he knew how to run a business and utilize technology to the best for it's time. Ron Disney, his brother wasn't interested in any of that, he was the financial side of Disney, he knew what had to be done for when to make profit and make sure the company stayed a float. If it wern't for Walt and Ron's strong traits to make a business relationship stand then Disney wouldn't have become what it is today. However there were many times that Walt nearly put the company into liquidation and made it bankrupt, because he was rarely satisfied with the product. Sleeping beauty nearly put them out of buisness as every frame had to be considered a work of art to be passable. Walt was fasinated with perspective and the third dimention. It's a shame he died when did because we would have had 3D as a medium become widely accessible in earlier days.
But yeah, not a great animator, but great inspirer of works.
Personally I think Chuck Jones was awesome. When he worked on Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner he kicked out an episode under his direction and dedication to animation in under 2 weeks. Something animators of todays caliber would still find hard and produce the quality he did.
