I like Nikx's idea, and I'd just like to bank on it by adding some character types:
Good Writers:
Pen Men (works off of penmanship): A writer of good taste who seeks to create a story of decent quality, even if not always of vast quantity. Their combat skills are impressive, as is their vocabulary. They make mistakes here and there, but they're often not too noticeable or influential. They are some of the higher rank in the Good writing army.
The Cool and Collected (works off C'n'C): Those who fight through finding the flaws of their opponent or environment and exploiting them, they also work trainers for their allies, assisting them where they need work, or even spotting them in battle. They also work well as scouts, finding the weaknesses in formations or fortresses and reporting back. Not to be categorized as "Good" or "Evil," they go under both. They aren't vast, but they are dangerous.
Novella (actually a type of story, I think it works well as a category of character): The majority of the good army, these are the men and women who will write when they can, as well as they can. Though not the most special, they shouldn't be cast aside. They can always improve, no one similar to another. They are of varying skill levels, and their styles are often different, but they usually get along pretty well. They work best in groups, though, there are those that work best alone.
Evil Writers:
Plague (plagiarist joke): These are the worst of the evil side, who enjoy using the skills of others while boasting it is their own. They're spiteful, rotten, and two-faced, working often as spies. Taking a Plague on directly can be risky, seeing as their true talent is unknown. Of course, they could just as easily use your own skills against you.
Rank (no real need to explain): These are the dudes who don't enjoy any criticism, and will lash out at it if presented. Their jealousy for superior writers leads to them being even more aggressive, and their quality rising and falling randomly. Don't stand in the way of one, because they can become like berserkers, rampaging with unbelievable hate and strength. Compliments somewhat appease them, but they can take it as sarcasm or get a superiority complex.
The Lame: They suck and they either know it or ignore it. Just basic fighters, they're really not that special. They're whatever.
Chaotic Writers:
Corrupt and Crooked: Unlike the cool and collected, these dudes offer no real helpful advice, causing havoc in the guise of kindness. Their words are like sugar lined with barbed wire, or vinegar lined with barbed wire. It is sometimes hard to tell them apart from the Cool and Collected, which makes them even more dangerous. They'll sneak in a lot of shots before you can realize, and will laugh at the misery they cause for either side.
The False: They intentionally write at lower levels just to incite confusion and annoyance, which they use to their advantage. Their true strength they keep hidden so as to catch one by surprise and cause even more chaos as some wonder why it wasn't revealed earlier. They are dangerous, and shouldn't be faced outright.
Stalkers: They don't actually do anything. They watch. They wait. They occasionally strike for minimal damage and slink back away to the shadows. Their numbers are unknown. Their skill is unknown. They are an enigma.
Copycats: They find something they like, and they do their best to imitate it. This allows them to match foes in combat, using their own skills against them. Their mimicry isn't always perfect, but this makes them no less dangerous. You have to be wary dealing with this type of character.
~
So yeah, just some concepts you can use.

Quote from The OrganizationWould we use our wRHG or new characters or even characters that are fake wRHGS or RHG since it takes place in StickPage
Neither.
You will play as yourselves.
In the world that I'm building, only RHGs exist as summoned creatures aka pokemon. Magic is defined as teh ability to animate, and writers in general are not so much even considered a part of any cause because of their inability to animate (im not saying all are like that, but that will be the general consensus)
I'll think about those Shaq, but I would keep the factions to a minimum. I'm trying to outline everything so that I'll have a proper ending instead of going on and on like a marysue fanfic. Also, I'd like to keep battles and fights to a minimum as well as I don't want the plot to be central to that.

Perhaps it was something that had blessed all who used the monolith in the beginning where it was at it's richest, but it soon ran out and it emitted a beacon which signaled an outside force. 2000 years later, the world has become a slave planet to an alien race, and the few writers that have survived are in hiding?
(I think I may be offering the wrong type of idea, but yea...)

wait would I be the Organization, the writer or the Organization as the Organization we are supposed to represent.
Or is that entirely up to our interpretation.
Also, does this wRHG involve Star Children

I don't think we should play as our forum names. Because in the stories I've made Malacal was the most powerful being in the universe... able to destroy the universe with 1/1,000,000 of his power...
Most people don't go psycho with their characters like I do but I think I've demonstrated why that would be bad.

Stories like that ^ are cliche, boring, and predictable. To answer your question TheOrg, it doesnt matter because the WL plays a tiny but pivotal role in the greater scheme of things.

I really like this idea Hewitt. Let me get my intake on this.
How about we make it short and simple, pretty much like Azure's but mushed into two categories.
We have the Goods. They have not been affected by the monolith and look to bring back the order of the previous stickpage. They vary in skillset depending on the character, but all of them have one specific ability. As if by evolution, the Goods can detect mods/admins in hiding. The only flaw is they cannot tell as to which side they are on.
Then there are the Bads. They have been possessed by the monolith and now have no sense of control of themselves. They do not hold back in their writing and if they lure a good to the monolith, there is about a 75% chance that said good will transform. Mods and admins go down to 50/50. Their one special ability is that it seems due to research, that the more numbers in a certain group they have, the stronger they become. The flip side is if one is alone, it is virtually as breakable as a small toddler.
Now I know it isn't that good but I have just created a quick improvised sketch and Im hoping you can incorporate one or two ideas in.
Also, if it wasn't obvious, I think it would be a good idea to have some mods/admins still alive. Some good, some evil. The evil ones being much more powerful than the rest of the average bads.
Another thing is like you said with RHG becoming pokemon, I think there should be a special group of people that can bring their writings to life as well. Half being good, half being bad. Just throwing out ideas. :D
Edit: Also, for the writing thing, you can put your own restrictions on it so it doesn't get out of control

When Malacal gets that powerful I kill him. I know stories like that end up pretty dumb.

Boomerang your input is appreciated and I already have something in mind. Those are good plots but if I run with that I'll end up overextending more than I should. I want this to end and some of the people I've shared it with have agreed that the WL shouldn't even be forcused at all, but more as a collective.
Malacal, it is dumb because you kill him that way.

While I'm thinking of it, has a wRHG RP ever been attempted? I'm not thinking the Chat thread or interviews, I mean an RP where our characters can do stuff other than talk.
Aug 12, 2013 12:40 AM #1063257
The Monolith used to be an RP about SP as a whole that I made a long time ago. It had an ambitious plot and was pretty original save for the backstory directly ripped from Borderlands. But I had to close it early on because of mismanagement and several mistakes in the system. Also, I was not as faithful with it as I had beleived. I am instead, converting it into a story which I may release at an unspecified date. I say unspecified because for the most part, I just don't have time to sit down and scribble these days.

Can I listen to your idea again? I didn't exactly get it the first time.
Stickpage forums has suffered an apocalypse, where the mods are the only things that can save us all. But for some reason (?), this means the mods and admins must go to war against each other. Now, the ordinary denizens of Stickpage Forums are also divided into order and chaos, where chaos can corrupt order, and where both factions gain special abilities.
Did I get that right
Edit: Oh dear, Hewitt means my character is also unoriginal... How can you say that? You don't see many characters who want to lose on the wRHG threads.

lolno. Thats not my plot at all. Where did you get that from. I guess in some vague sense it is but damn.
I dont wanna resay it. It's pointless if I dont write it in the end...it's just going to be one big idea :(
Also I don't call out things on unoriginality. It doesn't matter if something is unoriginal because nothing ever is anymore. What I'm concerned about is execution. Take Loboto for example. Kalena is your classic chick with a sword lost in another world with a hapless court magician. Loboto makes it work by adding dimensions to her character and makes her vulnerable.

Oh okay. Really, I was just throwing out a few ideas in case you wanted to put one or two aspects into it. And yeah that would likely end up being ongoing.

How do people feel about having to interpret a Tarot spread for a battle?
