Uh...Making people research to understand a battle can be annoying for the readers in my opinion.

there's going to be research involved in any battle, but if you could make the tarot cards very easy to understand then it should be fine.

Quote from The StrongestHow do people feel about having to interpret a Tarot spread for a battle?
I don't do witchcraft.

Tarot, in my experience, is pretty easy to pick up and interpret. I plan on either creating a tarot deck from scratch, or finding a simple one online to use. Before the battle, I'll do a single spread, and both I and the opponent will use the same spread as having happened.

I recall one wRHG, the one I first battled, that had a deck of 52 cards. He made a complete list of those cards and numbered them. He said that to thoroughly enjoy his gladiator, we would use a random number generator every time his character would take a card out of his deck to actually make it seem random. I tried it out when I wrote he battle and it was a nice way to spice things up as you write. Perhaps the tarot spread could be the same.
A little research is nice. Not all things have to be explained on the page.

Anyone here up for an absolutely terrible idea?
Basically, if you watch WWE, you've probably seen a tag match. It would be a fairly simple collab to make, just third person that could mostly be passed between the writers between tags, with the addition of occasional comments/interference. Square ring for the sake of tradition, but in two corners there'd be something of a beacon, and the participants would have some sort of wired device traveling from one palm to behind the back, and then to the other palm. These would cut off abilities and teleport weapons until tagged in, which would only be effective if the person who's out's touching the beacon. Fights would be till both of the opposing team dies/surrenders/gets knocked out.
Just a rough thought for the other insane people here!

I kind of like that idea~!
It can bring in an interesting element into collab fights and possibly clan battles too~!
However, I feel that this idea can still be refined.
Upon further thought, a lot of the ideas about collabs have room to be refined to be kept appealing and interesting to the audience~
Perhaps by format or style of the writings!

Heh, it's still just an idea at this point, planned on either talking it out in general here, or if three other people were up for it, with them until we get the kinks kicked out of it.
Glad to hear you kinda like it too!

Why is this thread here, rather than in the general wRHG sub-section?

This thread was made when the wRHG section was still new and there werent any Special Interest wRHG threads yet at the time. I'm considering moving it outside once the tournament's over because as it is the 2 threads are redundant. Alot of wRHG threads are.

When creating a new gladiator, may I make a new thread for said gladiator? Because editing the current thread seems an odd thing, to me, since there's commentary on Walden for a thread that won't be about him anymore.
Nov 6, 2013 1:18 AM #1103209
Yes you may, but technically you're only allowed one at a time so either you wait out the tournament's natural conclusion or you agree right now that the tournament will be the last thing Walden is going to be doing and when the tourney's over, I'm locking that thing forever.

Story-wise, what happens to Gladiators who are retired?
Nov 6, 2013 4:12 AM #1103253
It depends on you. To have him go away for some time, to die, to live away from the RHG or continue his journey elsewhere. Its really up to you. There is no decided fate for our gladiators, its a story made by you and when retired, is finished by you.
If you go for 'die' then Hewitt's clan has a special for those if you don't want to write up your gladiator's demise. Just sayin'.
