It would certainly be interesting and you can count with my participation in at least a few of them.
The idea of shorter stories that could be done in a day will definitely be more appealing.

I say this weekly event is a great idea and I'd love to participate! However, the next semester of college foreshadows busy times and lots of paperwork. I can't say I'll participate every week. But if things lighten up, you'll see me there!

I'm inclined to agree with Kyra; college demands a lot of time to do well, and those of us that do attend may not always be able to participate every week. That said, I would like to see an event like this return. It's fun, creative (or allows for creativity) and creates opportunities to test your characters against challenges you wouldn't normally see them take on. Once I get William up here, I'll try to participate whenever I have some time.

I wholeheartedly agree with this. Plus, with the settings given, new ideas can be born. And who wouldn't want that? Maybe an entire series of novels will be born from a Funky Fun Fart-ty. (Can't think of anymore Awesomely Annoying Alliterations)

Of course these ones will be slightly different. Instead of a full blown story, I want to see short ones. Ones that should just take you a few hours to finish, not a few days and the story should possibly be under 1k words. Those stories should be straight to the juicy bits of the story, instead of just being full of fluff (Fluff is the term, I believe, a few writers use when referring to really descriptive writing). Which is not a bad thing but I want to focus on quality than quantity in these events.

Please give me your thoughts on this darlings~
I want to know what you all think of it~

I think it'd be a good idea to bring them back, however I feel like part of the downfall of the old ones were nothing really happened when we did submit them. Like I always saw them as exorcizes, but there was never any feedback with them (I think except like once, after weeks). That really wasn't a good push to pursue anything too out of the ordinary.

Well maybe now this could be our redemption attempt. Ya know, a second chance. We've gained a (somewhat) rather significant increase in the number of writers, so maybe with all these newcomers there will be more overall participation. Heck, it doesn't hurt to try a second time right? If it falls through again, we simply won't re-attempt it a third time.

So, I recently found my old story idea notebook, and remembered I destroyed the previous one, which is why only one idea is about a story revolving around the test subjects in a lab. Experimental Lifeforms given numbers and titles (EL-13, Final Seed is the main character). I'm considering taking the main character and modifying him slightly to make into a sub character for Ben's back story. No real purpose to the mention, just stating.

Ohhhh~I'd like to see that Azure, that'd be pretty neat~

Anyways about the Friday Funk, due to the large amount of you voting yes to FF being brought back, I'll be glad to say that it will and the first FF of the year will be posted this week. A new year is fitting with a new start to the old FF. Also to everyone, you don't have to participate each week but it would be nice if you could. However just join in when you can spare the time. School and such is much more important, besides you have the whole year to at least participate in one~

To Crank, I'll probably give out some CnCs to everyone that posts their stories in the thread. It will be short stories anyways and it shouldn't take me too long, and maybe I could draw my favourite scene of the story if I liked it so much, but I'm just thinking haha~

It was a long time ago and I'm generalizing. But in general, I found my initial attempts to Friday Funk ineffective because unlike its animation counterpart, writing takes time for you guys for some reason. I even at one point opted to make it about writing a certain passage/paragraph instead of a short story. But you know, that was a long time ago when this place wasn't as active. It still doesn't change the fact that there already were active people on it and they chose to turn a blind eye to it because they were lazy. Case in point people like this:

I am open to the premise of a new Friday Funk, and at this point I don't care that I'm not hosting it. I'm intrigued by acute's method. Maybe she will have more success. But it pisses me off that nobody even tried to make it work when I hosted it.

Eh... Unfortunately I have to agree with Hewitt.. We really didn't work too hard to keep it going the first time. However, I think Acute is right on the money when she says that we should try it again for the new year.

So let's see how it fares this time around, all right? :D
So no hard feelings Hewitt..?

You do realize that because the FF's failed was the reason I made the highly successful tournament? You know, the very same tournament that you have all been faithful to since its inception? I had realized a long time ago, that this place works differently, and cannot cater activities meant for animators. It was from that insight that I designed my tournament to appeal to the majority's need for taking-a-long-ass-time to get something done.

So essentially, you guys have been participating in my "Friday Funk" aka the wRHG Tournament.

But that was then and this is now. It's alot more active than before so maybe it'll be different. I am not seeking for apologies. I just want you all to realize that I did try and the fault for negligence and failure is not just mainly on me for giving it up, but on some of you for just lurking and doing nothing to care. You know, be grateful for what is on your plate and stop taking things for granted.

It is for that^ reason that I decided to incorporate CNC-ing in the tournament as an added benefit. What usually happened back then is that nobody really cared for each other's writing. And you can argue that I didn't do the CNC myself. Well guess what, I did and you know what happened? Nobody else came forth soon after. Apparently, my cnc's appear so thorough, that it discourages other users from saying anything. The CNC mechanic was implemented in my tournament to try and create a Culture of Critique; that only by helping each other can we all move forward and bond; not just be "writers who submit things". And we've certainly seen alot of that in the tournament, didn't we?

I hope this kind of culture carries over to the new Friday Funks. Or it will be all for naught.
