Recently, I've seen in the news multiple cases of people shooting at everyone in their path because of the sake to do it. They guy (mostly men), always have some mental issue, got crazy, got a gun, and just went to a random place and shoot every living being for a few minutes before commit suicide.

I'm not 100% sure of how does this work in USA, but as far as I know, is pretty easy to get a gun. And again, the government waited for over 20 children to die before do something about it. Nowadays, this issue it's being discussed.

Personally, I don't see ANYTHING good about letting anyone who wants, to have a gun. Specially I these days where people are overreacting for anything. I heard someone saying that in comparison to other centuries we're living in a peaceful age. It may be true, there were tons of war for territory, to defend you home and such; but NOW, people are killing eachother with NO reason to do it, they don't even care to take someone's life.

My questions is. Should there be a new law that "ban" the possession of weapons, or at least not with such a freedom?. Or you're agreed of how it is right now?.

Guns are extremely rare in the UK where I live.
Almost every murder I've heard of is with knives and such, pretty much never with a gun.
In fact, I've only seen about 3 throughout my life.
I'm not too sure about allowing guns here, though.

Guns are meant for one thing.
If you own a gun, you don't own it just to own it. You own it to use it.

People most often have guns to protect themselves, but most of the time they end up protecting themselves against another gun.

i agree with Camilla that weapons shouldn't be given to everyone but in the USA there is a murder every hour and a rape every 15 minutes...i think its a little necessary to make some exceptions !

Camila, I don't see your point.
Guns are somewhat easy to obtain in the US, yes, but the GUN isnt doing the killing. The person is.
You would still be able to kill someone with a knife. Or a car. Or a lamp. But those things arent being discussed. Why is that?
And its not like ANYONE can get a gun. They do background checks at retailers, people with criminal records and who arent legal US citizens (i think) cannot legally obtain firearms.

Look, the thing is if people are potentially experienced in some point like killing, love violent video games or violent films, or are totally out of mind, can go get a gun and shoot people, they can, but its highly probhibited, i dont know why they do it. Maybe they're total losers, or they hate on society and find the only place to stay in is their minds. But what i think what matters is that at some point in their brains they think they can simply go out to the main menu and continue playing on the last respawn. But eventually they get in prison, and if they did a big crime, they get killed, or either stay there for the rest of their pathetic lifes, however prison doesnt teach you, oh no it doesnt. It just makes you even worse. If you like, stole something you go to prison, and the society there isnt like you. Like, they killed someone, if you live close to them at the end they get you on their level and you somehow get the desire to go and do something they did.

We know that, and I agree that guns don't kill people.

But they sure as hell make it a whole lot easier.

Here in Finland, guns are hard to obtain. Very few civilians have guns, because there are no organized crime syndicates, and even most gangs don't have access to any firearms.
Crime here is pretty much drunken guys beating their wives, and the occasional store robbery or a stabbing.

That's exactly the reason of why there should be a way to moderate this, it's true, the gun itself doesn't kill; but the society nowadays is SO stupid, that I'm in total disagree to let anyone who wants to have a gun. Most of time, the huge slaughters are commitment by "Normal people", that suddenly got crazy and went to buy a gun to kill lots of people with no reason.

I don't think that there should be such a freedom to get a gun, that's why I say that to prevent these kinds of situations, where you should be psychologically studied and say, "no you can't have a gun because you may have a mental issue due to some depression or you get angry easily with anything". And maybe a big slaughter could be stopped from happening.

in some sci-fi movies alll the guns are connected to a giant station where they can lock the weapon if its going to be used in the wrong way...if they can apply that IRL...thing will get better !

There shouldn't be an outright ban on weapons, because then the only people who'll have them would be criminals. They should at least be harder to get.

They should be banned from everyone but cops (at least the really good ones). It is government's job to keep criminals away from him, at least most of them; but instead of that, the solution is to fight fire with fire, solution that obviously will not take you to any better situation, it'll make it worse.

So what? you can easily steal a gun from cops while they're like watching TV, criminals are not only specialized in killing but are also good thieves.

Also about depression yes it can somewhat cause you to go around killing people, i know a dude in my school who is depressed every day and he threatens kids about cutting their throats. And guess what his family lets him play games like postal and call it NORMAL. He is a potential killer.
