I think your sister being religious has something to do with what she said. Porn doesn't make you a pedophile by any means (I could logically say that being a priest makes you one, but that would be quite spiteful) it is just purely for the sake of entertainment. Religion tends to bunch up everything sexual, though, and puts a label on it saying something like; "Everyone who does anything related to this is a pedo" which is exactly like saying "Everyone who doesn't believe this is an atheist".
It's religious pressure that your sister believes cause that's what shes been told ect ect this isn't the place to argue about it.

People who have sex are the main problem, because they're producing kids, and thus supplying the pedophiles with the material goods that they desire.
See, what we need to do, is to stop reproducing. Obviously.
Hahaha.

Pft nah.
And if I recall correctly, your sister just said: "Look, you know that pedophiles are formed by pornography, right?". Wich is actually true. I shall guess that you took it as an indirect for you, but it's quite hard sometimes to interpret a girl's indirect lol
Talkin about this, why is it fun to watch porn anyways? I think it's completely pointless e-e

Porn = money for economy. And lots of it. According to estimates, the American porn industry rakes in more than $10 billion dollars a year. That's right, every time you watch a pornographic film, you can tell yourself that you're doing it for the national economy. Sex sells, and so does porn. The two go hand in hand like peas and carrots.
Porn = jobs. If pornography were to be banned and prohibited, countless people in America would be unemployed. What company would be willing to hire a woman who used to be in pornography? Let's face it, some people are best suited to marketing their bodies rather than anything else.
Pornography minimizes stalking, rape, and underage sex. It allows people to pleasure themselves. If that source of pleasure is no longer available, then people must find other ways to pleasure themselves. This can lead to disaster, and an exponential increase in predatory rape and harassment cases.
Porn strokes the ego. Pornography gives people the opportunity to release their innermost desires and feel whole again. This reduces crime, increases work productivity, and most important of all- it makes people feel better about themselves.
The first negative consequence of watching porn can be a very detrimental one: pre-mature ejaculation. Nothing is worse than waiting so long to have sex and when you finally get an opportunity to get laid it’s over in a few seconds. You dread looking at the girl to confirm her disappointment in your performance.
Now, of course there's more negatives, but I doubt 'wanting to have sex with children, because you watch porn", is one of those.

Are you saying that people that watches porn are actually contributing to the economy?
And how could porn decrease rape, stealing and underage sex? I actually think it increases it.
Oh I almost forgot.

Quote from _camila_Are you saying that people that watches porn are actually contributing to the economy?
Yes, and that's a fact. The porn industry is huge, and a lot of people who would normally die in the streets can get jobs because of it, and live a decent life. If porn was illegal there'd be a gruesome and violent black market for it, like there was back in the day, where the employees have no rights and shit like that. Porn is good for the economy.
Quote from _camila_And how could porn decrease rape, stealing and underage sex? I actually think it increases it.
Lol how? People are in their homes, masturbating. That means that their sexual urges are satisfied without them having to work for them, and crazy and sexually frustrated people who might otherwise commit rape can just satisfy their urges to porn instead of going out and doing something horrible.

Quote from _camila_how could porn decrease rape, stealing and underage sex? I actually think it increases it.
pornography could potentially reduce stalking, rape, underage sex, by providing a satisfactory outlet for such desires in the form of fantasy/fetish videos, hence reducing the likelihood that such desires would need to be really acted upon.
however, things can still happen when said desire becomes great enough that pornography isn't sufficient to abate those needs. one could blame pornography for allowing that desire to grow, but i'd say there are many other, more important factors at work than that. for example, if someone is predisposed to not feel guilty about becoming a rapist, and predisposed to be unable to restrain themself, you wouldn't be able to blame pornography.
also, "i actually think x opinion" doesn't belong in the debate section. back up your opinions with coherent logical arguments or references.

My argument for that it was the fact that pedophile people (apart from having a mental issue), are even more feeded by watching pornography, specially if it contents children; wich it may result in a guy with a dangerous mind that abuses of women or children.

All normal human beings have sexual desires, they don't come from anywhere. A person might have never heard of the other sex and they'll still have them. Porn doesn't trigger these desires, it happens naturally and it's a part of how our bodies work. Pedophiles already have the pedophilia fetish in their genes, and there's nothing really that triggers it, especially not in normal adult porn. Child porn is illegal, so idk what your point is with that.

my previous point stands:

it is preferable that they spend their time fantasizing and masturbating to pornography, than actually feeling the need to really go out and do it.
but this is fairly pointless to argue, you can't find statistics on a psychological matter like this. it depends on the individual, and can work both ways.

Quote from _camila_Talkin about this, why is it fun to watch porn anyways? I think it's completely pointless e-e
That's my thing. I've never found it entertainment, I've found it a release. Now for a metaphor;
Everybody's hungry. We live in a cornucopia of sex, whether your "food" is masturbation, physical sex, porn, whatever. In my books, porn would be the equivalent of a single potato chip. Small, sweet, and short-lived. The saying "you can't eat just one" comes to mind. A man who would normally die of starvation could hypothetically live off of potato chips. But it increases the appetite into something ravenous. They're going to kill for that next potato chip now, and that just develops a pretty dangerous lust. That's where I would consider myself; the guy on a diet who's convinced he can stray away from those potato chips if I really tried, maybe for my health, maybe just to try and prove to prove to myself that I can put things like trust and respect over lust if it came down to it, though in actuality it's never that easy or simple.
Now, the stage most of the guys here at; you're sitting next to an unlimited bag of potato chips. Fuck it; feed, get fat and enjoy every minute of it. (Feels good man)
Fine. It won't kill you. You're not exercising any resistance at all towards your lust, but thankfully we have the blanket of contraception. Going back to the potato chip scenario, this means miracle drugs that'll keep you from getting the majority of those negative health benefits that come with obesity. All you've got to do is pop a pill before every meal and there's 99.9% chance that eating three cakes in one sitting (or in this case having sex with three people) isn't going to kill you.
But wait, when did ACTUAL sex come into play? We were just talking about porn, weren't we?
That's the thing. Once you give up on resisting the potato chips, the sight of a cake is going to look like heaven. You might still think you can control yourself and not go for the tangible sex, you do have boundaries, don't you? But your body has no experience with resisting your gluttony, or in this case lust, and it's much harder for you to resist. That's where people quickly forget about contraception and go for the prize; nobody expects it until it actually happens. If STDs and pregnancy are all you're worried about, that's probably the only thing you're worried about. But let's say you're the kind of guy who keeps a condom in your back pocket everywhere you go. Are you prepared to set the table, slice the cake into pieces before dutifully eating every piece one by one for the rest of your days? One day you're going to realize nobody's watching and just take a huge motherfucking bite out of that cake, fuck the safety nets. You're testing both of your patience when you say "stop, let me put this on first." or "I forgot my pill this morning, we can't do it today". That's why self control is so important, because otherwise you fear the day you get tired of setting the table. You don't stop when you hear the condom snap, you feel her resisting, because nothing has ever gone between you and your prize. And the dangerous truth is that you have to live your entire second-guessing or you will devolve to the point where nothing ever will.
And here's the thing that I find so difficult to explain to everyone here. My biggest fear is being unable to change my mind about something if my opinion towards it changes. If, on a whim, the porn industry began using its money to fuel crime (which isn't entirely unheard of, it can be very shady business) would you be able to stop watching? They've quite literally got you by the balls, can we at least agree on that?

Am I the only one disturbed by the analogy of "potato chips"?
That aside, you can't really have a metaphor, can you? It's entirely unique to what it is. Porn can be completely harmless if taken in moderation and can even have some benefits for society. If you use it too often, it may stimulate you to do bad things. You can say the same about alcohol. It's nothing major, the only problem with it tends to be from religious perspectives because religion doesn't like anything to do with sexuality.
I think we'd need a new thread to talk about it in that perspective. For now, let's just look at it from the question asked. If we get sidetracked too much by the controversy of the topic with which our topic is related, we'll never answer the question.
So again; Does porn make you a pedophile or make pedophiles?
